Abstract

O presente artigo tem por objetivo discutir os efeitos da disseminação do discurso obscurantista no Brasil durante a pandemia de COVID-19, além de enfatizar suas implicações e reflexos para o discurso científico e para a sua legitimidade social. Observou-se que as redes sociais digitais (WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter etc.) se tornaram ambientes virtuais em que se proliferam em grande escala e com extrema velocidade enunciados que possibilitam constituir e reafirmar as identidades dos usuários. Tomou forma, desse modo, um sistema em que o que se diz importa menos do que o modo como o dizer reitera a face criada para o usuário. A interação comunicativa virtual pressupõe que se compartilhe com velocidade, já que as informações não cessam em se atualizar, e as redes sociais virtuais propiciam um ambiente confortável para que se leiam apenas textos curtos (sem ser necessário procurar fontes ou fazer uma leitura crítica) e para que se possa compartilhá-los com apenas um toque, que é condicionado pela imagem de si que se busca criar para a audiência invisível com quem se está conectado. Abre-se espaço, assim, para a reprodução massiva de enunciados que não compactuam com fatos (as chamadas Fake News). A democratização dos ambientes virtuais aliada ao cenário político-social instaurado no Brasil em 2020 possibilitou a emergência de um forte negacionismo científico, sustentado pela difusão das Fake News, já que uma série de perspectivas discursivas que permeiam a atualidade se alicerçam na oposição ao discurso científico. Partindo da perspectiva da Linguística Ecossistêmica e da Análise do Discurso Ecossistêmica, propostas por Couto (2013), Couto, Couto & Borges (2015) e Couto & Fernandes (2021), e dos princípios da interação comunicativa virtual proposta por Nowogrodzki da Silva (2018), observa-se que o discurso obscurantista virtual e sua legitimação feita por figuras públicas, tendo por base fake news ou a distorção dos fatos, estabeleceram e disseminaram valores de verdade que se opõem ao que já era tido como axioma pela ciência. Deslegitima-se o discurso científico a fim de exaltar elementos ideológicos que perpassam identidades, como o conservadorismo, a moralidade cristã, a ideologia neoliberal, o nacionalismo e a idolatria da força militar na condução do Estado. Para clarificar essas relações, analisam-se enunciados compartilhados via redes sociais digitais diversas que reproduzam o discurso obscurantista, buscando entender o impacto que causam nos diversos âmbitos da sociedade durante um momento calamitoso, como a pandemia de COVID-19, no Brasil.
