Our aim was to determine the incidence of COVID-19 in patients with SSNHL. Methods: All consecutive patients with audiometric confirmed SSNHL between November 2020 and March 2021 in a Dutch large inner city teaching hospital were included. All patients were tested for COVID-19 by polymerase-chain-reaction (PCR) and awaited the results in quarantine. Results: Out of 25 patients, zero (0%) tested positive for COVID-19. Two patients had previously tested positive for COVID-19: at three and eight months prior to the onset of hearing loss. Conclusions: This is the largest series to date investigating COVID-19 in SSNHL patients. In this series there is no apparent relationship between SSNHL and COVID-19.

In 1997 an international group of scientists organized a meeting in Barcelona, Spain, to discuss the use of biomarkers in the management of patients with bladder cancer. This meeting was the offspring of an – initially informal – group that finally resulted in the foundation and incorporation of the International Bladder Cancer Network (IBCN) e.V. in 2005. Over the years the group has supported several research initiatives and generated several recommendations on the use of biomarkers in the diagnosis and treatment of bladder cancer. Meeting quality was generated by inviting experts presenting state-of-the-art lectures or work in progress reports, interdisciplinarity and the limited number of participants supporting an open and personal exchange resulted in a format increasingly attracting participants from all over the world. The recent limitations caused by the Covid-19 pandemic were partially met by organizing several well attended webinars. The future challenge is to maintain the IBCN meeting spirit despite an increasing interest of the scientific community and industrial partners to participate. However, the integration of and interaction between increasingly more specialized disciplines is a challenge that can be better catalyzed by an international multidisciplinary network than mostly national professional associations.

The thesis seeks to confirm the disparities between the discourse of media and political elites on the plain of the (de)securitization theory. This is examined within the topic of the covid-19 epidemic, from 1st January until 12th March, when the state of emergency has been announced by the Czech government. The thesis is organized as a discourse analysis on the basis of the Foucauldian historical method. The theoretical chapter introduces the basic premises of the securitization theory, its evolution and contemporary discussion, including the dimension of media autonomy. The analytical chapter examines seven topical aspects representing the uniqueness of the coronavirus discourse during the examined time period. In addition, the thesis also analyzes the reproduction of the discourse of political elites in media. A total of 154 inputs is compiled in the analyzed corpus, consisting of the transcript of covid-themed press conferences, and articles from the online media portals of iDnes and Fórum 24 that have been...

Treball Final de Grau en Mestre o Mestra d'Educació Infantil. Codi: MI1040.

The topicality of the topic of the master's thesis "Criminal Liability for Dissemination of Fake News on the Internet in the Conditions of a Pandemic" is related to the legal problems that have arisen during the last two years due to the pandemic caused by the Covid-19 virus. The Covid-19 pandemic has caused not only overcrowding in health care and economic problems all over the world, including Latvia, but also great social tensions. Various restrictions were imposed to limit the spread of the pandemic. The tensions caused by the pandemic and the restrictions imposed by the legislature paved the way for the dissemination of false information. This was especially true in the Internet environment. In order to limit false information, the Ministry of Justice submitted to the Saeima a proposal for amendments to the Criminal Law, which would provide for criminal liability for the dissemination of false information. The bill was discussed by both lawyers and politicians. In the face of such a response to pandemic containment efforts, the question arises as to whether the current legal framework in Article 231 of the Criminal Code, which provides for the dissemination of false information to be classified as hooliganism, is an acceptable legal solution. Aim of the study: to study the criminal law framework for liability for the dissemination of false information on the Internet in the context of a pandemic and the practice of its application, to identify possible problems and offer solutions to them. The main results of the study show that the current legal framework in Article 231 of the Criminal Law, which applies to the dissemination of false information, is being successfully applied in practice and case law is already being developed. This is proportionate to the seriousness of the crime, and there is no need for a new provision in the Criminal Code that specifically sets out the responsibility for spreading false information on the Internet.

Treball Final de Grau en Mestre o Mestra d'Educació Infantil. Codi: MI1040.
