This is a Somali language translation of an English language research report about impacts of COVID-19 responses on the education system in Somalia/Somaliland. While Somalia/Somaliland has not been severely affected by COVID-19, measures implemented to control the virus have causes significant harm to education and have exacerbated educational inequalities. During this project, we investigated how responses to COVID-19 have affected people’s education and the education sector as a whole. We promoted inclusion and participation by engaging with people who have do not have their voices heard including people who are illiterate, people from ethnic minorities, nomadic pastoralists, rural residents and women. For a balanced understanding, we also recruited participants responsible for various aspects of education ranging from primary and secondary school to Higher Education and Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET), including both educators and government officials.
