    Authors: Gomes, Filipe Adão;

    A transformação digital está presente nos diversos ramos empresariais, os quais procuram usufruir das vantagens ligadas à utilização das tecnologias digitais e, por isso, o termo digitalização descreve o aumento do uso de informações ou tecnologias digitais nas organizações. A constante transformação da informação analógica para um formato digital muda fundamentalmente a forma como as empresas operam e a forma como os bens e serviços são produzidos e comercializados. No caso do setor bancário, a digitalização e a automatização dos processos ligados à prestação de serviços financeiros trouxeram novos modos de operar, e a evolução tecnológica obriga a uma mudança constante de procedimentos. Deste modo, a transformação digital do setor bancário possibilitou mudanças bastante positivas como uma maior eficiência e uma redução dos custos operacionais através da automação de processos e da implementação de algoritmos inteligentes. Apesar de uma notória mudança, da constante evolução e de grande parte das operações da banca de retalho estarem disponíveis nas plataformas digitais, notamos que a prática destas novas interações é realizada a duas velocidades, ou seja, as faixas etárias mais jovens não têm necessidade de se deslocar a uma ATM para efetuar qualquer tipo de operação bancária, ao passo que as faixas etárias mais velhas demonstram pouca adaptação aos meios digitais, o que gera desconfiança em abraçar as plataformas digitais da banca. Esta dicotomia que afeta diretamente a transformação digital da banca compromete o desenvolvimento de novos produtos, os seus processos e toda a experiência do consumidor. Em suma, este estudo revela que o uso dos meios digitais no setor bancário é mais frequente entre os mais jovens, salientando uma crescente expansão para faixas etárias mais avançadas. Adicionalmente, os usuários revelam-se satisfeitos com os canais digitais à sua disposição, e a falta de interesse e experiência são os principais entraves para a não utilização dos mesmos. Além disso, destaca-se a persistente desigualdade digital como um desafio que exige intervenções eficazes para alcançar a inclusão digital universal The digital transformation continues to grow on a daily basis in the various business sectors, which are looking to take advantage of the benefits linked to the use of digital technologies, and so the term digitisation describes the increased use of digital information or technologies in organisations. The constant transformation of analogue information into a digital format fundamentally changes the way companies operate and the way goods and services are produced and marketed. In the case of the banking sector, the digitisation and automation of processes linked to the provision of financial services has brought new ways of operating, where technological evolution forces a constant change in procedures. In this way, the digital transformation of the banking sector has brought about very positive changes such as greater efficiency and a reduction in operating costs through the automation of processes and the implementation of intelligent algorithms. Despite the notorious change, the constant evolution and the fact that a large part of retail banking operations are available on digital platforms, we note that the practice of these new interactions is carried out at two speeds, i.e. younger age groups have no need to go to an ATM to carry out any type of banking operation, while older age groups show little adaptation to digital media, which generates distrust in embracing digital banking platforms. This controversy, which directly affects the digital transformation of banking, jeopardises the development of new products, their processes and the entire consumer experience. In summary, this study shows that the use of digital channels in the banking sector is more frequent among younger individuals, with a noticeable expansion into older age groups. Furthermore, users express satisfaction with the available digital channels, and lack of interest and experience are the primary barriers to non-utilization. Additionally, the study underscores the ongoing issue of digital inequality as a challenge that necessitates effective interventions to achieve universal digital inclusion.     Authors: Freitas, Márcia Raquel Mendes;

    A crise financeira de 2008 revelou falhas desconhecidas que existiam no sistema financeiro e desencadeou um clima de incerteza e desconfiança em relação às instituições financeiras ditas “tradicionais”. Estas falhas abriram portas para que novos operadores, como as fintech, ingressassem no mercado, oferecendo produtos e serviços financeiros inovadores que revolucionaram o sistema financeiro e suscitaram o interesse de novos utilizadores. As fintech estão a introduzir serviços financeiros inovadores suportados em novas tecnologias e Portugal tem-se consolidado como um importante hub tecnológico. Assim, foi desenvolvido um estudo de modo a perceber de que forma a população portuguesa está recetiva a esta nova forma de relacionamento entre o banco e o cliente, que passou a ser mediada pelas tecnologias da informação e da comunicação, bem como o impacto que o crescimento das fintech tem na banca e como estes players se posicionam no mercado. Esta tema está muito presente no dia-a-dia, tanto para os recém-chegados (fintech), é um mundo novo como para os incumbentes (bancos) é o lidar com novos desafios. Com base na informação da análise efetuada, os resultados sugerem que clientes estão recetivos à transformação digital e com forte propensão de ver a sua relação com o banco modificada e mais assente em plataformas digitais, essencialmente devido à redução dos custos e à comodidade e simplicidade no processamento de operações. Apesar de se ter constatado que existe ainda um desconhecimento grande sobre fintech, cerca de metade dos inquiridos em estudo ponderam aderir a serviços fintech no futuro. Outra análise registada, é que o atendimento personalizado (entenda-se presencial), foi o motivo mais citado para a não utilização dos serviços financeiros online. Este é um tema que as fintech têm de enfrentar face à ausência de balcões físicos e que se torna uma vantagem para os bancos. Assim, a banca tem um desafio pela frente e no futuro será o resultado da sinergia entre os pontos fortes de bancos tradicionais e das fintech. Esta relação é muito promissora e será cada vez mais necessária para o sucesso de ambas as partes. The 2008 financial crisis revealed previously unknown flaws in the financial system, creating an atmosphere of uncertainty and mistrust towards so-called "traditional" financial institutions. These gaps provided opportunities for new players, such as fintech companies, to enter the market as providers of innovative financial products and services that revolutionized the system and piqued the interest of costumers. Fintech companies offer innovative financial services through new technologies, and Portugal has been transforming into an important technological hub. Therefore, the present study was conducted to understand how the Portuguese population is receptive to this new form of interaction between the bank and the customer, which is now mediated by information and communication technologies. The study also addresses the impact of the fintech industry's growth on traditional banking and how these players position themselves in the market. This topic is relevant in daily life, both for newcomers (fintech companies) as they navigate a new world, and for incumbents (banks) as they deal with new challenges. Based on the analysis, the results suggest that customers are open to digital transformation and are highly inclined to see their relationship with the bank transformed, relying more on digital platforms. This shift is primarily due to cost reduction, convenience, and simplicity in processing transactions. Even though there is still a significant lack of awareness about fintech, about half of the survey respondents are considering using fintech services in the future. Another notable finding is that personalized (in-person) service was the most cited reason for not using online financial services. This is a challenge that fintech companies have due to their absence of physical branches, which remains an advantage for traditional banks. The banking sector faces a challenge, and the future will depend on the synergy between the strengths of traditional banks and fintech companies. This relationship holds great promise and will become increasingly necessary for the success of both parties. Dissertação de mestrado em Economia Monetária Bancária e Financeira

    Authors: Freitas, Francisca Dias de;

    This research and project aim to value and propose a (re)design of the landscape on the banks of the Leça River, along the territory that surrounds it at the beginning of its course. Based on an investigation into the Leça Valley, an alternative is sought for the future of this place, which can reverse the abandonment of the rural territory, justifying the overlapping of occupations with uses and intentions that characterize it. Thus, the different layers existing in this place are taken as a fundamental instrument in the Project, as they lead to a work that aims to connect the population to a natural system in which they are inserted and that, despite inhabiting it, they are sometimes unaware of it. . The Leça Valley therefore undergoes 4 actions for its development: plowing, sowing, fertilizing and staking. From the first action -“plowing”-, comes the attitude of working in a territory taking into account what it is suitable for. To this end, research work is carried out on it, in order to understand the conditions in which we find the land in question. Having analyzed the opportunities of the place, the act of “sowing” proposes the creation of a Higher Agricultural School that, taking advantage of the qualities and tradition of the place, promotes the transmission of knowledge and intergenerationality, bringing young people to this place. In addition, the Student Residence, which is directly linked to the school, supports the stay of these new inhabitants. From the new paradigm of agricultural workers in this territory, the issue of habitability conditions arises. From the context of welcoming immigrants who come here to work during the harvest period, an action of “fertilizing” arises, creating a Collective Temporary Residence taking into account issues of comfort and intimacy. From the desire expressed by some of these immigrants here to settle down with their families, the action of “staking” arises, with the creation of Permanent Multi-Family Residences so that these new inhabitants can settle here and stay, re-inhabiting abandoned areas and integrating the young population into this territory. Finally, it reflects on a hypothesis for the development of the site in the future, imagining that the implemented programs expand to adjacent land, creating new functions and connecting with each other. A presente investigação e o projeto visam valorizar e propor um (re) desenho da paisagem nas margens do Rio Leça, ao longo do território que o envolve no início do seu curso. Com base numa investigação sobre o Vale do Leça, procura-se uma alternativa ao futuro deste lugar, que possa reverter o abandono do território rural, justificando a sobreposição de ocupações com usos e intenções que o caracterizam. Assim, tomam-se as diferentes camadas existentes neste local como instrumento fundamental no ato do Projeto, ao conduzirem a uma obra que visa conectar a população a um sistema natural no qual se inserem e que, apesar de o habitarem, por vezes, o desconhecem. O Vale do Leça submete-se assim a 4 ações para o seu desenvolvimento: lavrar, semear, adubar e estacar. Da primeira ação -“lavrar”-, surge a atitude de trabalhar num território tendo em conta aquilo para que ele é adequado. Para isso, é feito um trabalho de investigação sobre o mesmo, de modo a perceber as condições em que encontramos o terreno em questão. Analisadas as oportunidades do lugar, o ato de “semear” propõe a criação de uma Escola Superior Agrária que, aproveitando as qualidades e a tradição do lugar, promove a transmissão de conhecimentos e a intergeracionalidade, trazendo jovens neste local. A par disto, a Residência de Estudantes, que se relaciona diretamente com a escola, vem apoiar a estadia destes novos habitantes. Do novo paradigma de trabalhadores agrícolas neste território, surge-nos a problemática das condições de habitabilidade. Do contexto do acolhimento de imigrantes que aqui se dirigem para trabalhar no período das colheita, surge ação de “adubar”, criando uma Residência Temporária Coletiva tendo em conta questões de conforto e intimidade. Da vontade manifestada por alguns destes imigrantes daqui se estabelecerem com a sua família, surge a ação de “estacar”, com a criação de Residências Permanentes Plurifamiliares para que estes novos habitantes aqui se instalem e permaneçam, reabitando áreas em abandono e integrando população jovem neste território. Por fim reflete-se sobre uma hipótese de desenvolvimento do local no futuro, imaginando que os programas implantados se expandem a terrenos adjacentes, criando novas funções e conectando-se entre si.     Authors: Graça, Joana Tojeira Domingues;

    Esta dissertação incorpora um projeto de engenharia focado na melhoria da gestão de colaboradores e de informação em tempo real, através da mudança de ferramenta. Até à data, esta a gestão e manutenção da informação era feita com base numa rede de ficheiros programados em Microsoft Excel com mais de 20 anos. O objetivo deste projeto atua na passagem da informação presente nestas ferramentas para um software interno da empresa, que já se encontra interligado com outros softwares de gestão e análise de dados em chão de fábrica em tempo real, e respetiva automatização e melhoria. Ao longo do tempo, com a aquisição de conhecimento, foram desenvolvidos e adicionadas à dissertação algumas propostas de melhoria que incidem na migração de informação para o software e adição de novas funcionalidades ao mesmo. A metodologia inicial consistiu na observação dos procedimentos executados em chão de fábrica e nos escritórios encarregues da gestão da produção. O ponto de partida passou por identificar a informação e dados dos colaboradores a serem importados para o software, uma vez que estes ou eram copiados manualmente, ou geravam comunicações internas (emails para diversos colaboradores) que poderiam ser melhoradas. Após a conclusão dessa análise, passou-se à fase de criação de mockups de cada uma das páginas a criar neste software, para transmitir da melhor forma qual o objetivo pretendido. Por fim, foram realizados diversos testes e ajustes aquando necessário. Em conclusão, a migração da informação para o software permitiu a melhoria da gestão da informação, distribuição do know-how, tornou o workflow de informação mais autónomo e simples. Assim, direta ou indiretamente, as implementações das propostas feitas neste projeto contribuíram para a melhoria da produtividade dos seus utilizadores e, consecutivamente, melhoria da gestão industrial da Bosch Car Multimédia, S.A. This dissertation incorporates an engineering project focused on improving the management of employees and information in real time, through the change of tool. Until now, this information’s management and maintenance was based on a network of files programmed in Microsoft Excel that were more than 20 years old. The main goal of this project is to pass the information within in these tools to an internal software of the company and its automation and improvement. This one is already interconnected with other management software and data analysis on the shopfloor in real time. Over time, with the acquisition of knowledge, some proposals for improvement were developed and added to the dissertation, focusing on migrating information to the software and adding new functionalities to it. The initial methodology consisted in the observation of the procedures performed on the shopfloor and in the offices in charge of production management. The starting point was to identify the information and employee’s data to be imported into the software, since these were either copied manually or generated through internal communications that could be optimized. After concluding this analysis, the next step was to create of each of the pages to be created on the software’s platform, in order to best convey the intended objective. Finally, several tests and adjustments were made when necessary. In conclusion, the migration of information to the software allowed the improvement of the information’s management, the distribution of know-how and made the information’s workflow more autonomous and simpler. Directly, or indirectly, the implementations of the proposals contributed to the improvement of the user’s productivity and, in consequence, to the advance of the industrial management of Bosch Car Multimedia, S.A. Pós-graduação em Mídia e Tecnologia (doutorado) - FAAC A Internet atravessa uma de suas maiores revoluções tecnológicas onde evolui de uma rede física que interconecta computadores remotos para uma rede de objetos (coisas) e dispositivos inteligentes, tal advento é denominado como Internet das Coisas (do inglês: Internet of Things), ou simplesmente IoT. Desde o seu surgimento a Internet transformou a maneira das pessoas se comunicarem e compartilhar dados. A internet das Coisas fundamenta que não mais apenas as pessoas utilizem a Internet e sim uma infinidade de dispositivos e objetos inteligentes interconectados em rede coletem e compartilhem dados entre si e com as pessoas, em tempo real. Com a expansão da interconexão das tecnologias móveis com a Internet surge uma infinidade de aplicações com base nos conceitos da IoT, onde são necessários esforços em pesquisa e desenvolvimento pois ainda existem muitas lacunas e desafios a serem superados, como padrões, segurança, eficiência energética dentre outros. A fim de oferecer uma contribuição para o avanço das possibilidades de aplicações da IoT, este presente estudo objetiva a exploração dos recursos tecnológicos para a captação autônoma de dados das variações ambientais como temperatura, umidade e luminosidade durante o transporte de amostras biológicas. Além de explorar as possibilidades de também aplicá-las a partir de uma prova de conceitos por meio da construção de um protótipo de um dispositivo físico IoT. Através de uma pesquisa em colaboração desenvolvida no LTIA da Unesp de Bauru, foi possível estabelecer os parâmetros e requisitos necessários para a construção do protótipo, resultando em um dispositivo IoT viável aplicado a um modelo de gerenciamento de controle de variações ambientais no transporte de amostras biológicas. Com isso, o presente estudo explora, verifica e testa a aplicabilidade dos fundamentos apoiados nas tecnologias da Internet das Coisas num cenário real onde a necessidade de recursos tecnológicos seja identificada como forma da resolução de problemas. The Internet is going through one of its biggest technological revolutions where it evolves from a physical network that interconnects remote computers to a network of objects (things) and smart devices, such an advent is called the Internet of Things (Internet of Things), or simply IoT . Since its creation, the Internet has transformed the way people communicate and share data. The fundamental Internet of Things is that it is no longer just people using the Internet, but a community of intelligent devices and objects interconnected in a network that collect and share data with each other and with people, in real time. With the expansion of the interconnection of mobile technologies with the Internet, applications based on IoT concepts have emerged, where efforts in research and development are sought, since there are still many gaps and challenges to be overcome, such as standards, security, energy and many others. In order to offer a contribution to the advancement of possibilities for IoT applications, this study aims to explore technological resources for the autonomous generation of data on the variation of environmental indicators such as temperature, humidity and luminosity during transport of biological samples. In addition to exploring the possibilities, we also apply them from a proof of concepts through the construction of a prototype of a physical IoT device. Through a collaborative research developed at the LTIA of Unesp in Bauru, it was possible to establish the parameters and requirements necessary for the construction of the prototype, generated in a viable IoT device applied to a management model for controlling environmental variations in the transport of biological species. With this, the present study explores, verifies and tests the applicability of the fundamentals supported by Internet of Things technologies in a real scenario where the need for technological resources is identified as a way of solving problems.

    Authors: Teles, Ana Carlota Castro;

    Muitos estudos têm vindo a analisar os benefícios para as empresas provenientes da adoção de tecnologias digitais. Para além do mais, esses benefícios têm se expandido para fora das empresas, contribuindo também para o crescimento macroeconómico. Contudo, apesar de todos os benefícios que são conhecidos, muitas empresas continuam relutantes à transformação digital e outras, apesar dos esforços, não são capazes de ultrapassar as barreiras à digitalização. Por este motivo, torna-se pertinente estudar as barreiras à digitalização e o seu impacto na tomada de decisão das empresas relativamente à adoção de tecnologias digitais. Para tal, na realização desta dissertação foram levantadas duas questões: “As barreiras existentes na adoção de tecnologias digitais afetam a intensidade de digitalização das empresas?”, “Que barreiras têm um impacto mais significativo na tomada de decisão das empresas na adoção de digitalização?”. Para a realização deste estudo e de forma a ser possível responder às questões de investigação foram utilizados dados de 2014 a 2020 do INE resultantes do Inquérito à Utilização de Tecnologias de Informação e Comunicação nas Empresas (IUTICE), procedendo à utilização de modelos econométricos como o modelo logit e o modelo binomial negativo. Os resultados obtidos mostraram, notoriamente, que as barreiras à digitalização têm um impacto negativo tanto na adoção de tecnologias digitais como na intensidade digitalizadora das empresas. Além disso, os resultados comprovaram também que quanto mais tecnologias digitais uma empresa adota, maior é a probabilidade de vir a adotar outras tecnologias adicionais. Adicionalmente, e no que concerne às barreiras à digitalização especificamente, foi possível concluir que o tipo de barreiras que pareceu ter mais impacto na adoção de tecnologias digitais foram as referentes à segurança cibernética. Por outro lado, as barreiras financeiras foram as que pareceram revelar-se menos significativas. Por fim, e fazendo uma breve comparação entre as PMEs e as grandes empresas, constatamos que as PMEs têm vindo a ficar um pouco para trás no que concerne à transformação digital. Deste modo, o presente estudo pode se tornar numa base sólida para que a adoção de tecnologias digitais seja bem-sucedida, contribuindo para que as empresas consigam aproveitar todos os benefícios resultantes da digitalização. Many studies have been analysing the benefits from the adoption of digital technologies for firms. Moreover, these benefits are no longer just for firms and have also been contributing to macroeconomic growth. However, despite all the benefits that are increasingly known, many companies remain reluctant to digital transformation and others, despite efforts, are not able to overcome the barriers to digitalization. For this reason, it is pertinent to study the barriers to digitalization and its impact on companies' decision-making regarding the adoption of digital technologies. Carrying out this dissertation, two questions were raised: “Do the existing barriers in the adoption of digital technologies affect the intensity of digitalization of firms?”, “Which barriers have a more significant impact on the decision-making of companies when adoption digitalization?”. In order to be able to answer the research questions, were used data from 2014 to 2020 from INE, resulting from the Survey on the Use of Information and Communication Technologies in Companies, proceeding with the use of econometric models such as the logit model and the negative binomial model. The results obtained notoriously showed that the barriers to digitalization have a negative impact both on the adoption of digital technologies and on the digitalization intensity of firms. In addition, the results also proved that the more digital technologies a company adopts, the greater is the probability of adopting other additional technologies. Additionally, and regarding barriers to digitalization specifically, it was possible to conclude that the type of barriers that seemed to have the most impact on the adoption of digital technologies were those related to cybersecurity. On the other hand, financial barriers were the ones that seemed to be less significant. Finally, and making a brief comparison between SMEs and large companies, we find that SMEs have been a little behind in terms of digital transformation. The present study can become a solid basis for the adoption of digital technologies to be successful, helping companies to be able to take advantage of all the benefits resulting from digitalization. Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES) Pós-graduação em Agronomia (Entomologia Agrícola) - FCAV O sensoriamento remoto vem se tornando uma alternativa relevante na otimização do monitoramento de pragas agrícolas. Contudo, antes de propor o uso de sensores como uma solução a detecção de ataque insetos, é essencial conhecer a resposta espectral de plantas sob diferentes tipos de estresses. Neste estudo foram determinados parâmetros de trocas gasosas e o comportamento espectral de plantas de milho em casa de vegetação infestadas por Diatraea saccharalis (Fabricius, 1794) (Lepidoptera: Crambidae) e Spodoptera frugiperda (J.E. Smith, 1797) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae), a fim de investigar respostas fisiológicas e bandas espectrais sensíveis às diferentes injúrias causadas por estes insetos. Para isso, plantas de milho em estádio de desenvolvimento V5 foram aleatoriamente distribuídas em quatro tratamentos: plantas não infestadas, plantas infestadas por D. saccharalis, plantas infestadas por S. frugiperda e plantas infestadas por ambas as espécies. As medições da reflectância espectral foram realizadas por meio do sensor hiperespectral configurado para adquirir imagens em 50 bandas entre 500 e 900 nm. Ainda, a resposta fisiológica, dado por parâmetros de assimilação, concentração de CO2 subestomatal, condutância estomática, déficit de vapor entre folha e ar e eficiência de uso da água fotossintética também foram obtidos utilizando sistema portátil de medição de fotossíntese. As leituras espectrais e fisiológicas foram realizadas em seis dias distintos durante o período de 14 dias de desenvolvimento larval. Ao final deste período, todas as plantas foram seccionadas para constatação de sucesso de infestação e somente as plantas infestadas foram consideradas nas análises. Modelos de classificação criados a partir dos espectros de reflectância médios permitiram a discriminação de plantas sadias e plantas com os estressores, sobretudo na região do visível (666,36 nm) para plantas com S. frugiperda e infravermelho próximo (866,05 nm) para plantas com D. saccharalis. Não houve diferença relevante nos parâmetros de troca gasosa entre plantas sadias e infestadas durante o período avaliado. Esses resultados indicam que o sensor imageador hiperespectral tem potencial para ser utilizado em atividades de monitoramento dessas pragas. Como não houve alterações significativas nos parâmetros de trocas gasosas, as mudanças espectrais provavelmente ocorreram por modificações estruturais internas das folhas ocasionadas pelas injúrias desses insetos. Remote sensing is becoming a relevant alternative in optimizing the monitoring of agricultural pests. However, before proposing the use of sensors as a solution for insect detection, it is essential to know the spectral response of plants under different types of stress. In this study, gas exchange parameters and the spectral behavior of maize plants in the greenhouse infested by Diatraea saccharalis (Fabricius, 1794) (Lepidoptera: Crambidae) and Spodoptera frugiperda (J.E. Smith, 1797) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) were determined in order to investigate physiological responses and spectral bands sensitive to the different injuries caused by these insects. For this, maize plants at V5 developmental stage were randomly assigned to four treatments: non-infested plants, plants infested by D. saccharalis, plants infested by S. frugiperda and plants infested by both species. Spectral reflectance measurements were performed using hyperspectral sensor configured to acquire images in 50 bands between 500 and 900 nm. The physiological response given by parameters of assimilation, substomatal CO2 concentration, stomatal conductance, vapor deficit between leaf and air and photosynthetic water use efficiency were also obtained using a portable photosynthesis system. Spectral and physiological readings were performed on six different days during the 14-day period of larval development. At the end of this period, all plants were sectioned to verify successful infestation and only infested plants were considered in the analyses. Classification models created from the average reflectance spectra allowed the discrimination of healthy plants and plants with stressors, especially in the visible region (666.36 nm) for plants with S. frugiperda and near infrared (866.05 nm) for plants with D. saccharalis. There was no relevant difference in gas exchange parameters between healthy and infested plants during the evaluated period. These results indicate that the hyperspectral imaging sensor has the potential to be used in monitoring activities for these pests. As there were no significant changes in the gas exchange parameters, the spectral changes probably occurred due to internal structural changes in the leaves caused by the injuries of these insects.

    Pós-graduação em Desastres Naturais - ICT Queimadas e desmatamentos inapropriados compreendem questões ambientais enfrentadas por diferentes países. Apesar da sua conservação ser de interesse mundial, os biomas brasileiros Cerrado e Pantanal têm sofrido ao longo dos anos diversas alterações devido às ações antrópicas. Especificamente, enquanto o desmatamento sobre o bioma Cerrado avança progressivamente, queimadas cada vez mais severas têm ocorrido no Pantanal. Diferentes pesquisas discutem que o comportamento das queimadas no Pantanal surgem como efeito colateral dos desmatamentos no Cerrado. No entanto, não são encontradas análises quantitativas que relacionem tais eventos. Neste contexto, fazendo uso de técnicas de aprendizado de máquina e dados temporais obtidos por sensoriamento remoto no período 2000–2020, este estudo busca identificar as interação entre os biomas Cerrado e Pantanal. Os resultados alcançados permitem verificar que a redução das áreas florestais no Pantanal e a expansão agropecuária no Cerrado estão vinculadas ao comportamento das queimadas no Pantanal. Inappropriate fires and deforestation comprise environmental issues faced by different countries. Despite its conservation being of worldwide interest, the Brazilian Cerrado and Pantanal biomes have undergone several changes over the years due to anthropic actions. Significantly, both deforestation within the Cerrado biome and the incidence of severe fires in the Pantanal have witnessed a worrisome escalation. Different studies argue that the behavior of fires in the Pantanal arises as a side effect of deforestation in the Cerrado. However, no quantitative analysis relating to such events is found. In this context, making use of machine learning techniques and temporal data obtained by Remote Sensing in the period 2000–2020, this study aims to identify the interactions between the Cerrado and Pantanal biomes. The obtained results verify that the reduction of forest areas in the Pantanal and the agricultural expansion in the Cerrado are linked to the behavior of fires in the Pantanal.

    Authors: Mello Júnior, Fernando Corrêa de;

    During the 1970s, the process known as agricultural modernization began in the state of Goiás, a little later than in the rest of Brazil, which started in the 1950s. Enabled mainly by public policies promoting regional development and abundant financing, the cerrado region of Goiás saw the introduction of new techniques capable of boosting productivity in the sector, as well as machinery, equipment, and inputs. This work contributes in two aspects i) to the literature, by providing a study of a geographical and regional scope that has not yet been explored; ii) it fills a gap in the detailed analysis of the state of Goiás, which is the fifth largest agricultural producer in the country in terms of Gross Value of Agricultural Production (VBP) in 2022. For the parties involved, it provides analytical evidence of the homogeneity or heterogeneity of the state's productivity, shedding light on state public policies and market decisions made by the productive agents. Given this scenario and the importance of agriculture for Goiás, the objective of this work is to analyze and compare the performance of agricultural Total Factor Productivity (TFP) in Goiás and its different Mesoregions. TFP was chosen as a proxy for productivity. The methodology used focused on analyzing TFP between 1970 and 2017, and its inputs and output indices calculated using the Törnqvist index (1936). The results showed that, starting from 1970, agricultural productivity in the Southern Mesoregion grew at a higher rate than that observed in the state of Goiás and the adjacent mesoregions, with the Capital index experiencing higher growth compared to Labor and Land indices from the same decade, indicating a shift towards largescale production in the regional agriculture, increasing labor and land productivity. The Eastern Mesoregion had the second highest annual growth rate of TFP during the study period, with a 0.13 percentage point difference from the leader. The performance of the Eastern Mesoregion was linked to the increase in the output index in the last two censuses, facilitated by irrigated crops using central pivots. The North and Northwest regions followed trajectories where livestock products had smaller increases in the output index compared to agricultural products, from 1970 to 2017, representing the main contributions to the agricultural value. On the other hand, the Central Mesoregion diverged from the state average of agricultural TFP, as land use for agricultural activities and labor experienced declines starting from 1985, resulting in the lowest average TFP growth during the analyzed period. Durante a década de 1970 o processo denominado de modernização agropecuária iniciou-se no estado de Goiás, um pouco mais tarde que o seu início no Brasil, que se deu na década de 1950. Possibilitada principalmente pelas políticas públicas de fomento ao desenvolvimento regional e pelo financiamento abundante, o cerrado do estado goiano conhece a partir daí novas técnicas capazes de alavancar a produtividade do setor, bem como máquinas, equipamentos e insumos. A contribuição desse trabalho está alicerçada em dois aspectos: i) para a literatura: contribui com um estudo de recorte geográfico e regional ainda não explorado; ii) cobre lacuna para uma análise pormenorizada para o estado de Goiás, o quinto maior produtor do país em Valor Bruto da Produção (VBP) agropecuária em 2022. Para os agentes envolvidos, contribui com evidência analítica da homogeneidade ou heterogeneidade da produtividade do estado, lançando luz sobre políticas públicas de estado e decisões de mercado dos agentes produtivos. Diante desse cenário e da importância da agropecuária para Goiás, o objetivo deste trabalho é analisar e comparar o desempenho da PTF agropecuária goiana e nas diferentes Mesorregiões do estado. Para isso foi escolhida a PTF para como proxy da produtividade. A metodologia utilizada pautou-se na análise da PTF entre os anos de 1970 e 2017, e seus índices de produto e insumo calculados pelo índice de Törnqvist (1936). Os resultados apontaram que a partir de 1970 a produtividade da agropecuária da Mesorregião Sul, cresceu a nível superior ao observado no estado de Goiás e as adjacentes mesorregiões, com o crescimento do índice de Capital, a partir da mesma década, sendo superior aos dos Índices de Mão de Obra e Terra, indicando para o período a transformação da agropecuária regional em direção à produção em escala, aumentando a produtividade da mão de obra e da terra. A PTF da Mesorregião Leste, teve no período estudado a segunda maior taxa anual de crescimento, com 0,13 pontos percentuais de diferença para a líder. O desempenho do Leste, é ligado ao incremento no índice do produto nos dois últimos Censos, possibilitado por culturas irrigadas por pivô central. Norte e Noroeste tiveram trajetórias onde produtos da pecuária, que tiveram incrementos no índice do produto menores se comparados com produtos agrícolas, desde 1970 até 2017, como principais participações no valor agropecuário. Já o Centro, se distanciou da média estadual da PTF agropecuária, à medida que o uso da terra para a atividade e a mão-de-obra sofreram quedas a partir de 1985, tendo no período analisado a menor média de crescimento da PTF.

    Authors: Gomes, Filipe Adão;

    A transformação digital está presente nos diversos ramos empresariais, os quais procuram usufruir das vantagens ligadas à utilização das tecnologias digitais e, por isso, o termo digitalização descreve o aumento do uso de informações ou tecnologias digitais nas organizações. A constante transformação da informação analógica para um formato digital muda fundamentalmente a forma como as empresas operam e a forma como os bens e serviços são produzidos e comercializados. No caso do setor bancário, a digitalização e a automatização dos processos ligados à prestação de serviços financeiros trouxeram novos modos de operar, e a evolução tecnológica obriga a uma mudança constante de procedimentos. Deste modo, a transformação digital do setor bancário possibilitou mudanças bastante positivas como uma maior eficiência e uma redução dos custos operacionais através da automação de processos e da implementação de algoritmos inteligentes. Apesar de uma notória mudança, da constante evolução e de grande parte das operações da banca de retalho estarem disponíveis nas plataformas digitais, notamos que a prática destas novas interações é realizada a duas velocidades, ou seja, as faixas etárias mais jovens não têm necessidade de se deslocar a uma ATM para efetuar qualquer tipo de operação bancária, ao passo que as faixas etárias mais velhas demonstram pouca adaptação aos meios digitais, o que gera desconfiança em abraçar as plataformas digitais da banca. Esta dicotomia que afeta diretamente a transformação digital da banca compromete o desenvolvimento de novos produtos, os seus processos e toda a experiência do consumidor. Em suma, este estudo revela que o uso dos meios digitais no setor bancário é mais frequente entre os mais jovens, salientando uma crescente expansão para faixas etárias mais avançadas. Adicionalmente, os usuários revelam-se satisfeitos com os canais digitais à sua disposição, e a falta de interesse e experiência são os principais entraves para a não utilização dos mesmos. Além disso, destaca-se a persistente desigualdade digital como um desafio que exige intervenções eficazes para alcançar a inclusão digital universal The digital transformation continues to grow on a daily basis in the various business sectors, which are looking to take advantage of the benefits linked to the use of digital technologies, and so the term digitisation describes the increased use of digital information or technologies in organisations. The constant transformation of analogue information into a digital format fundamentally changes the way companies operate and the way goods and services are produced and marketed. In the case of the banking sector, the digitisation and automation of processes linked to the provision of financial services has brought new ways of operating, where technological evolution forces a constant change in procedures. In this way, the digital transformation of the banking sector has brought about very positive changes such as greater efficiency and a reduction in operating costs through the automation of processes and the implementation of intelligent algorithms. Despite the notorious change, the constant evolution and the fact that a large part of retail banking operations are available on digital platforms, we note that the practice of these new interactions is carried out at two speeds, i.e. younger age groups have no need to go to an ATM to carry out any type of banking operation, while older age groups show little adaptation to digital media, which generates distrust in embracing digital banking platforms. This controversy, which directly affects the digital transformation of banking, jeopardises the development of new products, their processes and the entire consumer experience. In summary, this study shows that the use of digital channels in the banking sector is more frequent among younger individuals, with a noticeable expansion into older age groups. Furthermore, users express satisfaction with the available digital channels, and lack of interest and experience are the primary barriers to non-utilization. Additionally, the study underscores the ongoing issue of digital inequality as a challenge that necessitates effective interventions to achieve universal digital inclusion.     Authors: Freitas, Márcia Raquel Mendes;

    Authors: Freitas, Francisca Dias de;

    This research and project aim to value and propose a (re)design of the landscape on the banks of the Leça River, along the territory that surrounds it at the beginning of its course. Based on an investigation into the Leça Valley, an alternative is sought for the future of this place, which can reverse the abandonment of the rural territory, justifying the overlapping of occupations with uses and intentions that characterize it. Thus, the different layers existing in this place are taken as a fundamental instrument in the Project, as they lead to a work that aims to connect the population to a natural system in which they are inserted and that, despite inhabiting it, they are sometimes unaware of it. . The Leça Valley therefore undergoes 4 actions for its development: plowing, sowing, fertilizing and staking. From the first action -“plowing”-, comes the attitude of working in a territory taking into account what it is suitable for. To this end, research work is carried out on it, in order to understand the conditions in which we find the land in question. Having analyzed the opportunities of the place, the act of “sowing” proposes the creation of a Higher Agricultural School that, taking advantage of the qualities and tradition of the place, promotes the transmission of knowledge and intergenerationality, bringing young people to this place. In addition, the Student Residence, which is directly linked to the school, supports the stay of these new inhabitants. From the new paradigm of agricultural workers in this territory, the issue of habitability conditions arises. From the context of welcoming immigrants who come here to work during the harvest period, an action of “fertilizing” arises, creating a Collective Temporary Residence taking into account issues of comfort and intimacy. From the desire expressed by some of these immigrants here to settle down with their families, the action of “staking” arises, with the creation of Permanent Multi-Family Residences so that these new inhabitants can settle here and stay, re-inhabiting abandoned areas and integrating the young population into this territory. Finally, it reflects on a hypothesis for the development of the site in the future, imagining that the implemented programs expand to adjacent land, creating new functions and connecting with each other. A presente investigação e o projeto visam valorizar e propor um (re) desenho da paisagem nas margens do Rio Leça, ao longo do território que o envolve no início do seu curso. Com base numa investigação sobre o Vale do Leça, procura-se uma alternativa ao futuro deste lugar, que possa reverter o abandono do território rural, justificando a sobreposição de ocupações com usos e intenções que o caracterizam. Assim, tomam-se as diferentes camadas existentes neste local como instrumento fundamental no ato do Projeto, ao conduzirem a uma obra que visa conectar a população a um sistema natural no qual se inserem e que, apesar de o habitarem, por vezes, o desconhecem. O Vale do Leça submete-se assim a 4 ações para o seu desenvolvimento: lavrar, semear, adubar e estacar. Da primeira ação -“lavrar”-, surge a atitude de trabalhar num território tendo em conta aquilo para que ele é adequado. Para isso, é feito um trabalho de investigação sobre o mesmo, de modo a perceber as condições em que encontramos o terreno em questão. Analisadas as oportunidades do lugar, o ato de “semear” propõe a criação de uma Escola Superior Agrária que, aproveitando as qualidades e a tradição do lugar, promove a transmissão de conhecimentos e a intergeracionalidade, trazendo jovens neste local. A par disto, a Residência de Estudantes, que se relaciona diretamente com a escola, vem apoiar a estadia destes novos habitantes. Do novo paradigma de trabalhadores agrícolas neste território, surge-nos a problemática das condições de habitabilidade. Do contexto do acolhimento de imigrantes que aqui se dirigem para trabalhar no período das colheita, surge ação de “adubar”, criando uma Residência Temporária Coletiva tendo em conta questões de conforto e intimidade. Da vontade manifestada por alguns destes imigrantes daqui se estabelecerem com a sua família, surge a ação de “estacar”, com a criação de Residências Permanentes Plurifamiliares para que estes novos habitantes aqui se instalem e permaneçam, reabitando áreas em abandono e integrando população jovem neste território. Por fim reflete-se sobre uma hipótese de desenvolvimento do local no futuro, imaginando que os programas implantados se expandem a terrenos adjacentes, criando novas funções e conectando-se entre si.     Authors: Graça, Joana Tojeira Domingues;

    Authors: Teles, Ana Carlota Castro;

    Authors: Mello Júnior, Fernando Corrêa de;
