    Longitudinal Business Process Management (BPM) studies are rare. BPM maturity and process performance can be used to quantify an organization's BPM evolution. This research aims to examine the growth of BPM maturity over time and its impact on process performance inside an organization in continuous transformation. Over a seven-year period, BPM maturity and process performance were measured annually at a Dutch university. During this time, the organization has undergone an organizational restructuring with a focus on process management and has temporarily switched completely to digital education propelled by the Covid-19 crisis. Based on a repeated cross-sectional study (N = 921), the results present key BPM maturity features that are critical during disruptive organizational transformations. Furthermore, we found that BPM maturity is positively related to process performance throughout organizational changes during the period of our research

    Authors: Fenina, Lyne;

    In recent years, and especially after Covid-19, online shopping has been more common among millennials, making it crucial for businesses to understand the factors influencing their online experience through understanding their preferences and online behaviors. This study focuses on FNAC, an online retailer in Portugal, aiming to attract and retain the millennial target by understanding their distinct values and adapting marketing strategies accordingly. The research objective is to explore the impact of the online shopping experience on millennials' brand perceptions, purchase decisions, and e-loyalty. For this purpose, a mixed- method approach is employed, including a comprehensive literature review, benchmark analysis, an observational research, in-depth interviews, and a survey. The participants considered for the study are aged between 23 and 44 and reside in Portugal. The findings indicate that online presence have an influence on millennials' perceptions and behaviors. Social media platforms, search engines, and websites have an effect on building awareness, engagement and brand interaction. Authenticity, visually appealing content, and user-friendly interfaces are crucial for effective customer-brand interactions and long-term relationship. Moreover, search engine presence and the influence of online reviews significantly impact brand visibility and trust-building among Millennials. To attract and retain this generation, businesses must align their strategies with these preferences. Optimizing online presence and focusing on engagement, authenticity, and review management are paramount. Further understanding and catering to millennials' preferences are vital for brand success in the digital era. By taking into consideration these aspects, FNAC and similar businesses can effectively target millennials. Nos últimos anos, especialmente após a Covid-19, as compras online têm se tornado mais comuns entre os millennials. É crucial para as empresas entender os fatores que influenciam a experiência online desses consumidores, compreendendo suas preferências e comportamentos. Este estudo foca na FNAC, um varejista online em Portugal, com o objetivo de atrair e reter os millennials, adaptando as estratégias de marketing de acordo com seus valores distintos. A pesquisa explora o impacto da experiência de compra online nas percepções de marca, decisões de compra e lealdade eletrônica dos millennials. Os participantes têm entre 23 e 44 anos e residem em Portugal. As descobertas destacam a influência da presença online, incluindo plataformas de mídia social, mecanismos de pesquisa e sites, na criação de reconhecimento, engajamento e interação com a marca. Autenticidade, conteúdo visualmente atraente e interfaces amigáveis são cruciais para relacionamentos duradouros com os clientes. A presença do mecanismo de pesquisa e a influência das avaliações online também afetam a visibilidade da marca e a construção de confiança entre os millennials. Para atrair e reter essa geração, as empresas devem alinhar suas estratégias com essas preferências, otimizando a presença online, focando no engajamento, autenticidade e gerenciamento de avaliações. Compreender e atender às preferências dos millennials é vital para o sucesso da marca na era digital.

    Patients with immune-mediated inflammatory diseases (IMIDs) may have impaired initial humoral responses after SARS-CoV-2 vaccination depending on the type of immunosuppression (ISP) used.1 It is largely unknown how antibody titres develop over time and whether it is needed to adjust timing of booster campaigns for patients with IMID.

    Em resposta à pandemia causada pelo vírus SARS-CoV2 várias medidas de controlo foram implementadas em Portugal, com vista a controlar a sua transmissão e, assim, diminuir o número de hospitalizações causado pela doença. Para isso foram impostas duas quarentenas: de 18/03/2020 a 02/05/2020 e de 15/01/2021 a 15/03/2021. Este trabalho assenta num estudo retrospetivo, com o objetivo de analisar as admissões na Urgência Pediátrica do Departamento de Pediatria do Centro Hospitalar Universitário Lisboa Norte durante a quarentena, comparando os primeiros 6 meses do ano (01/01 a 30/06) de 2020 e 2021, com o mesmo período de 2018 e 2019. Todas as admissões foram divididas por categorias de diagnóstico, com base nos códigos ICD-10, faixas etárias, sexo, duração, origem dos doentes (domicílio, transferidos de outros hospitais) e os seus outcomes (alta, transferência interna). Os resultados mostraram que o número de admissões teve uma diminuição estatisticamente significativa de 943 para 607 admissões entre 2019 e 2020 (p-value 0,0479). A faixa etária dos 10-17 anos teve um aumento percentual, de 29,7% em 2019 para 34% em 2020. A maioria dos diagnósticos identificados concentrou-se em 4 categorias: acidentes, patologia respiratória, casos cirúrgicos e patologia gastrointestinal. Destes, os diagnósticos respiratórios mostraram uma diminuição estatisticamente significativa nos anos analisados (p-value 0,0341). Ainda, as doenças gastrointestinais tiveram uma diminuição significativa de 19,1% em 2019 para 12,2% em 2020 (p-value 0,0146). Em conclusão, a primeira quarentena em 2020 traduziu-se num maior impacto nas admissões hospitalares do Departamento de Pediatria do Centro Hospitalar Universitário Lisboa Norte (CHULN), em termos de número de doentes admitidos ao Serviço de Urgência e dos seus diagnósticos. As a respond to the global pandemic caused by SARS-CoV2 virus, Portugal took several measures to control its transmission in order to minimize hospital admissions caused by the disease. Two major lockdowns were implemented: from 18th of March to 2nd of May 2020, and from the 15th of January to 15th of March 2021. This investigation aims to study how the pattern of Paediatric emergency room admissions in North Lisbon University Hospital Centre (CHULN) changed, by comparing the first 6 months of 2020 and 2021 (1st of January to 30th of June) with the same period of 2018 and 2019, using a retrospective observational cohort study. For this, admissions were categorized in diagnoses, based on ICD-10 codes, age stratification, sex, hospitalization duration, outcomes and patients origin (home or transferred from other hospitals). The results showed a significant decrease from 943 to 607 of admissions from 2019 to 2020 (p-value 0.0479). The group age of 10 to 17 years-old had an increase in admission percentage during COVID (29,7% in 2019 to 34% and 33% in 2020), in the other groups the number didn’t changed. The majority of diagnoses were distributed in 4 subcategories: Accidents, Respiratory pathology, Surgical cases and Gastrointestinal Pathology. From those, respiratory pathology showed a significantly decrease with ANOVA test (p-value 0.0341) and no significance was found among years in Tukey comparison test. Moreover, gastrointestinal pathology decreased from 19.1% in 2019 to 12.2% in 2020 (p-value 0.0146). In conclusion, the first lockdown in 2020 had a greater effect on paediatric admissions in CHULN, in terms of absolute number and pattern of its diagnoses. Background: The emergence of COVID-19 was rapidly followed by infection and the deaths of millions of people across the globe. With much of the research and scientific advancement rightly focused on reducing the burden of severe and critical acute COVID-19 infection, the long-term effects endured by those who survived the acute infection has been previously overlooked. Now, an appreciation for the post-COVID-19 condition, including its neurological manifestations, is growing, although there remain many unknowns regarding the etiology and risk factors of the condition, as well as how to effectively diagnose and treat it. Methods: Here, drawing upon the experiences and expertise of the clinicians and academics of the European working group on COVID-19, we have reviewed the current literature to provide a comprehensive overview of the neurological sequalae of the post-COVID-19 condition. Results: In this review, we provide a summary of the neurological symptoms associated with the post-COVID-19 condition, before discussing the possible mechanisms which may underly and manifest these symptoms. Following this, we explore the risk factors for developing neurological symptoms as a result of COVID-19 and the post-COVID-19 condition, as well as how COVID-19 infection may itself be a risk factor for the development of neurological disease in the future. Lastly, we evaluate how the post-COVID condition could be accurately diagnosed and effectively treated, including examples of the current guidelines, clinical outcomes, and tools that have been developed to aid in this process, as well as addressing the protection provided by COVID-19 vaccines against the post-COVID-19 condition. Conclusions: Overall, this review provides a comprehensive overview of the neurological sequalae of the post-COVID-19 condition.

    Since the arrival of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) in December 2019, its characterization as a novel human pathogen, and the resulting coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, over 6.5 million people have died worldwide—a stark and sobering reminder of the fundamental and nonredundant roles of the innate and adaptive immune systems in host defense against emerging pathogens. Inborn errors of immunity (IEI) are caused by germline variants, typically in single genes. IEI are characterized by defects in development and/or function of cells involved in immunity and host defense, rendering individuals highly susceptible to severe, recurrent, and sometimes fatal infections, as well as immune dysregulatory conditions such as autoinflammation, autoimmunity, and allergy. The study of IEI has revealed key insights into the molecular and cellular requirements for immune-mediated protection against infectious diseases. Indeed, this has been exemplified by assessing the impact of SARS-CoV-2 infection in individuals with previously diagnosed IEI, as well as analyzing rare cases of severe COVID-19 in otherwise healthy individuals. This approach has defined fundamental aspects of mechanisms of disease pathogenesis, immunopathology in the context of infection with a novel pathogen, and therapeutic options to mitigate severe disease. This review summarizes these findings and illustrates how the study of these rare experiments of nature can inform key features of human immunology, which can then be leveraged to improve therapies for treating emerging and established infectious diseases.

    Authors: Fenina, Lyne;
