description Publicationkeyboard_double_arrow_right Article 2022 EnglishPublisher:MDPI AG Funded by:UKRI | Hybrid Battery Optimisati...UKRI| Hybrid Battery OptimisationAuthors: Arduin, Pierre-Emmanuel; Kabeche, Doudja Saïdi;Arduin, Pierre-Emmanuel; Kabeche, Doudja Saïdi;International audience; Throughout the world, including in developed countries, the COVID-19 crisis has revealed and accentuated food insecurity. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations clearly defines food security as a situation of not only availability and accessibility but also social acceptability (i.e., adequacy and sustainability). In developed countries, food security remains non-achieved at all. Notably, the so-called "little deprivation" leads the working poor to rely on food aid. We argue that even doing so, they remain food insecure: food aid is socially unacceptable because, despite their work, they are kept away from classical food access paths. In this article, we present the specificities of food aid in France and state some of its limits, namely those associated with the supply chain of donated foodstuffs. We propose a monographic study relying on a mix of firsthand material (six years of fieldwork from students with associations) and secondhand material (analysis of specialized, legal, and activity reports). We describe inspiring initiatives from three French associations and mobilize the recently published analysis of dignity construction in food aid in the United States of America to argue that dignity in food aid logistics is also a knowledge management and digital matter. Indeed, the initiatives of the three considered associations show concretely how knowledge management and digital systems can enhance dignity in food aid logistics.

These productive jumps from product A to product B are feasible because of the know-how proximity between the two classes of products. The proximities were computed from the analysis of co-exports and resulted in the construction of the product space. Based on the product space, as well as the customer-supplier relationships resulting from the input-output matrices, we propose a recommender system for companies. The goal is to promote distributed manufacturing by recommending a list of local suppliers to each company. As there is not always a local supplier for a desired product class, we consider the proximity between products to identify, in the absence of a supplier, a substitute supplier able to adapt its production tools to provide the required product. Our experiments are based on French data, from which we build a graph of synergies illustrating the potential productive links between companies. Finally, we show that our approach offers new perspectives to determine the level of territories' industrial resilience considering potential productive jumps. International audience

International audience; The COVID-19 pandemic caused France to impose a strict lockdown, affecting families’ habits in many domains. This study evaluated possible changes in child eating behaviors, parental feeding practices, and parental motivations when buying food during the lockdown, compared to the period before the lockdown. Parents of 498 children aged 3–12 years (238 boys; M = 7.32; SD = 2.27) completed an online survey with items from validated questionnaires (e.g., CEDQ, CEBQ, HomeSTEAD). They reported on their (child’s) current situation during the lockdown, and retrospectively on the period before the lockdown. Many parents reported changes in child eating behaviors, feeding practices, and food shopping motivations. When changes occurred, child appetite, food enjoyment, food responsiveness and emotional overeating significantly increased during the lockdown. Increased child boredom significantly predicted increased food responsiveness, emotional overeating and snack frequency in between meals. When parents changed their practices, they generally became more permissive: less rules, more soothing with food, more child autonomy. They bought pleasurable and sustainable foods more frequently, prepared more home-cooked meals and cooked more with the child. Level of education and increased stress level predicted changes in parental practices and motivations. This study provides insights in factors that can induce positive and negative changes in families’ eating, feeding and cooking behaviors. This can stimulate future studies and interventions.

National audience; It is well-known that group testing is an efficient strategy to screen for thepresence of a virus. It consists of pooling n individual samples with a singletest using RT-PCR. If no individual in the group is infected, the group test isnegative. Thus, a single test may reveal this crucial information. We show howgroup testing can be optimised in three applications to multiply the power oftests against Covid-19: Estimating virus prevalence to measure the evolutionof the pandemic, bringing negative groups back to work to exit the currentlockdown, and testing for individual infectious status to treat sick people. For an infection level around 2%, group testing could multiply the power oftesting by a factor of 20. The implementation of this strategy in the short runrequires limited investments and could bypass the current immense shortageof testing capacity.

Since the Covid-19 restrictions came into effect in the House of Commons, those sessions have become less crowded and notably quieter. This unprecedented state of affairs have considerably undermined the “tribal effect” typical of parliamentary groups during Pmqs. Additionally the video conferencing technology requires more attention and calm in the house. Consequently, the confrontational quality of the debates has turned into an uncharacterically pacified moment. The number of interruptions and face attacking acts (insults) have been reduced to non-existence removing any possibility to catch the PM off guard. Those departures from the script or the impromptu answers to a question shouted from the Opposition benches are key elements to assess accountability. Finally, the “supportive collective backchanelling” noise as well as barracking also provide valuable indications on the importance and credibility of the information the PM is putting across.

She argues the pandemic is shining a spotlight on the impact of geopolitical competition in the Western Balkans, where authoritarian forces are undermining the EU’s democracy promotion efforts.

Eleven papers and three posters were proposed and discussed in two thematic groups: digital or other resources and the use of technology and teachers' practices and innovations. In this report, we present a synthesis of the papers and the posters in each thematic group. Also, we present a summary of our discussion on emerging issues related to the recent Covid-19 outbreak, especially in relation to the shift to online or blended modes of teaching. We conclude with a reflection on the studies presented on the TWG4 and propositions for future research.
