    Phylogenetics has been foundational to SARS-CoV-2 research and public health policy, assisting in genomic surveillance, contact tracing, and assessing emergence and spread of new variants. However, phylogenetic analyses of SARS-CoV-2 have often relied on tools designed for de novo phylogenetic inference, in which all data are collected before any analysis is performed and the phylogeny is inferred once from scratch. SARS-CoV-2 datasets do not fit this mould. There are currently over 5 million sequenced SARS-CoV-2 genomes in public databases, with tens of thousands of new genomes added every day. Continuous data collection, combined with the public health relevance of SARS-CoV-2, invites an "online" approach to phylogenetics, in which new samples are added to existing phylogenetic trees every day. The extremely dense sampling of SARS-CoV-2 genomes also invites a comparison between Likelihood and Parsimony approaches to phylogenetic inference. Maximum Likelihood (ML) methods are more accurate when there are multiple changes at a single site on a single branch, but this accuracy comes at a large computational cost, and the dense sampling of SARS-CoV-2 genomes means that these instances will be extremely rare. Therefore, it may be that approaches based on Maximum Parsimony (MP) are sufficiently accurate for reconstructing phylogenies of SARS-CoV-2, and their simplicity means that they can be applied to much larger datasets. Here, we evaluate the performance of de novo and online phylogenetic approaches, and ML and MP frameworks, for inferring large and dense SARS-CoV-2 phylogenies. Overall, we find that online phylogenetics produces similar phylogenetic trees to de novo analyses for SARS-CoV-2, and that MP optimizations produce more accurate SARS-CoV-2 phylogenies than do ML optimizations. Since MP is thousands of times faster than presently available implementations of ML and online phylogenetics is faster than de novo, we therefore propose that, in the context of comprehensive genomic epidemiology of SARS-CoV-2, MP online phylogenetics approaches should be favored.

    Healthcare professionals experience difficult processes due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has affected the whole world in a short time. They are especially likely to be exposed to the disease agent due to their close contact with people affected by the virus. For this reason, it is important for healthcare professionals to choose and use of PPE correctly before approaching the patient, and pay attention to hand hygiene and social distance. In this study, it is aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the application developed for the use of PPE.

    Percecionando a necessidade de construir os pilares para reinventar a escola capaz de responder aos novos desafios e oportunidades da Educação e Formação Profissional dos atuais tempos “líquidos” em que vivemos, uma parceria transnacional constitui-se para desenvolver, desde 2018, o Projeto no 2018-I-PT OI-KA 202-O4774463, no âmbito do Programa Erasmus +, chave KA2, intitulado “School 4.0 -Innovation in VET”. A parceria é constituída por quatro escolas profissionais portuguesas, da “Rede Escolas 4.0”, os parceiros europeus da Dinamarca e Grécia, com o envolvimento da EfVET , tendo como consultoria científica e pedagógica dois investigadores do Centro de 1 Investigação em Desenvolvimento Humano (CEDH) e consultores do Serviço de Apoio à Melhoria da Educação (SAME), da Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Católica Porto, Portugal . O objetivo desta parceria transnacional é coconstruir e publicar um Intelectual Output (IO), em língua portuguesa e inglesa, em suporte de papel e digital, com links em língua materna de cada parceiro, que se constitua como um referencial teórico-prático inovador para ajudar os diferentes stakeholders a repensar e identificar as mudanças a introduzir nas práticas pedagógicas, organizativas e avaliativas, para se passar de uma escola tradicional, só com aulas presenciais, para uma escola do século XXI, " SCHOOL 4.0”, orientada para a mudança positiva, com aulas, também a distância. Para planear a investigação seguiu-se o Appreciative Inquiry e as orientações do sistema de gestão de qualidade (SGQ), alinhado ao quadro Europeu EQAVET. Esta comunicação pretende divulgar não só o projeto, como apresentar, também, o processo e alguns dos produtos já alcançados nesta parceria transnacional, nomeadamente as boas práticas desenhadas, implementadas e testadas pelos parceiros em contextos de sala de aula e formação de trabalho, histórias de vida de “VET reference persons”, narrativas de estudantes e testemunhos de parceiros e stakeholders para criar comunidades e aumentar a conexão, em tempo de pandemia Covid-19. A transnational partnership has been created to develop, since 2018, the Project no 2018 -I-PT OI-KA 202-O4774463, under the Erasmus + Program, KA2, entitled “School 4.0 - Innovation in VET”, to build the pillars to reinvent the school capable of responding to the new challenges and opportunities of Vocational Education Training of the current “liquid” times in which we live. The partnership is formed by four portuguese vocational schools, from the “Schools Network 4.0”, the European partners from Denmark and Greece, with the involvement of EfVET, having as scientific and pedagogical consultancy two researchers from the Research Centre for Human Development (CEDH) and consultants from the Support Service for the Improvement of Education (SAME), from Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Católica Porto, Portugal. The purpose of this transnational partnership is to co-build and publish an Intellectual Product (IO), in Portuguese and English, on paper and digital, with links in each partner's mother tongue, which constitutes an innovative theoretical-practical framework to help the different stakeholders to rethink and identify the changes to be introduced in the pedagogical, organizational and evaluative practices, in order to move from a traditional school, with only face-to-face classes, to a 21st century school, "SCHOOL 4.0", oriented towards positive change, with classes, also at a distance. As a research strategy, the Appreciative Inquiry (AI) and the guidelines of the quality management system (SGQ), in line with the European framework EQAVET, were followed. This communication aims to spread the project, the process and some of the products already achieved, namely good practices designed, implemented and tested by partners, in classroom contexts and narratives of graduates and testimonies of some partners to increase the social connection, in time of Covid- 19 pandemic.

    Background: A worldwide vaccination program is the chosen strategy against the COVID-19 pandemic. Vaccine hesitancy however, forms a threat because vaccine uptake is voluntary in most countries. Care-professionals of people with intellectual disabilities are exposed to greater risks than other healthcare workers due to the vulnerable group they attend to and the assisted-living facilities in which they often work. Little is still known of the reasons for vaccine hesitancy in this specific group in contrast to those of other healthcare workers. Objective: To provide insight in the intentions and attitudes on COVID-vaccination of healthcare workers, including those who care for people with intellectual disabilities, by means of a scoping review. Methods: The databases that were searched for papers are CINAHL, APA PsycArticles, APA PsycInfo, Web of Science, Semantic Scolar, Prospero, Outbreak Science, Cochrane and Scopus. The search was broadened to healthcare workers in general because only two papers were found on those caring for people with intellectual disabilities. A total of 26 papers were identified concerning the vaccine intentions of 43,199 healthcare workers worldwide. Data were gathered both quantitively and qualitatively. The papers were analysed for all themes regarding vaccine willingness and vaccine hesitancy. Results: The themes that came to light included: percentages of vaccine willingness, predictors of willingness differentiated by 11 sub-themes (mainly profession, age, gender and past vaccine behaviour), attitudes of willingness and hesitancy differentiated by 19 sub-themes (perceived COVID treat and protecting others for willingness, concerns on vaccine safety and efficacy for hesitancy), sources of vaccination information, contextual factors and changes in COVID-19 vaccine acceptance over time and finally, future strategies for interventions. Conclusions: There was overlap in the percentages of vaccination, predictors of vaccine willingness and the attitudes of vaccine willingness and hesitancy between healthcare workers and those caring for people with intellectual disabilities. Vaccine safety and efficacy are the most prominent concerns with regard to vaccine hesitancy. Therefore, future strategies for interventions should address vaccine safety and efficacy. Furthermore, interventions are recommended to be interactive in order to facilitate exchange. Discussion groups that are able to address specific concerns and personal experiences, show to be effective in addressing vaccine hesitancy. Accurate information can also be made more accessible to target groups by promoting video’s on social media platforms. Hence, further research is necessary to specify more precisely the attitudes of healthcare workers caring for people with intellectual disabilities and in more countries worldwide.

    It can be argued that the question of capacity – in particular, the current (and quite possibly prolonged) lack of hospital resources to conduct planned endoscopy procedures in a timely manner – has received insufficient attention in the recent Rapid Response report from HIS. Widespread use of Cytosponge would enable substantially more patients (50% or more depending on COVID-19 and other factors) to be seen in any given period. Although endoscopy plus biopsy appear to have superior sensitivity (although still less than 100%) and specificity than Cytosponge, this advantage can be negated by a lack of effective capacity to perform these resource-intensive procedures in a timely manner. Instead, using Cytosponge for suitable patients would allow them to be seen and diagnosed closer to the originally planned time, leading where necessary to faster treatments with associated gains in quality-adjusted life years. Any (potentially false) negative results from the Cytosponge test could be reconsidered within a reasonable period of time should the patient’s symptoms persist or worsen.

    Phylogenetics has been foundational to SARS-CoV-2 research and public health policy, assisting in genomic surveillance, contact tracing, and assessing emergence and spread of new variants. However, phylogenetic analyses of SARS-CoV-2 have often relied on tools designed for de novo phylogenetic inference, in which all data are collected before any analysis is performed and the phylogeny is inferred once from scratch. SARS-CoV-2 datasets do not fit this mould. There are currently over 5 million sequenced SARS-CoV-2 genomes in public databases, with tens of thousands of new genomes added every day. Continuous data collection, combined with the public health relevance of SARS-CoV-2, invites an "online" approach to phylogenetics, in which new samples are added to existing phylogenetic trees every day. The extremely dense sampling of SARS-CoV-2 genomes also invites a comparison between Likelihood and Parsimony approaches to phylogenetic inference. Maximum Likelihood (ML) methods are more accurate when there are multiple changes at a single site on a single branch, but this accuracy comes at a large computational cost, and the dense sampling of SARS-CoV-2 genomes means that these instances will be extremely rare. Therefore, it may be that approaches based on Maximum Parsimony (MP) are sufficiently accurate for reconstructing phylogenies of SARS-CoV-2, and their simplicity means that they can be applied to much larger datasets. Here, we evaluate the performance of de novo and online phylogenetic approaches, and ML and MP frameworks, for inferring large and dense SARS-CoV-2 phylogenies. Overall, we find that online phylogenetics produces similar phylogenetic trees to de novo analyses for SARS-CoV-2, and that MP optimizations produce more accurate SARS-CoV-2 phylogenies than do ML optimizations. Since MP is thousands of times faster than presently available implementations of ML and online phylogenetics is faster than de novo, we therefore propose that, in the context of comprehensive genomic epidemiology of SARS-CoV-2, MP online phylogenetics approaches should be favored.

    Healthcare professionals experience difficult processes due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has affected the whole world in a short time.     Percecionando a necessidade de construir os pilares para reinventar a escola capaz de responder aos novos desafios e oportunidades da Educação e Formação Profissional dos atuais tempos “líquidos” em que vivemos, uma parceria transnacional constitui-se para desenvolver, desde 2018, o Projeto no 2018-I-PT OI-KA 202-O4774463, no âmbito do Programa Erasmus +, chave KA2, intitulado “School 4.0 -Innovation in VET”. A parceria é constituída por quatro escolas profissionais portuguesas, da “Rede Escolas 4.0”, os parceiros europeus da Dinamarca e Grécia, com o envolvimento da EfVET , tendo como consultoria científica e pedagógica dois investigadores do Centro de 1 Investigação em Desenvolvimento Humano (CEDH) e consultores do Serviço de Apoio à Melhoria da Educação (SAME), da Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Católica Porto, Portugal . O objetivo desta parceria transnacional é coconstruir e publicar um Intelectual Output (IO), em língua portuguesa e inglesa, em suporte de papel e digital, com links em língua materna de cada parceiro, que se constitua como um referencial teórico-prático inovador para ajudar os diferentes stakeholders a repensar e identificar as mudanças a introduzir nas práticas pedagógicas, organizativas e avaliativas, para se passar de uma escola tradicional, só com aulas presenciais, para uma escola do século XXI, " SCHOOL 4.0”, orientada para a mudança positiva, com aulas, também a distância. Para planear a investigação seguiu-se o Appreciative Inquiry e as orientações do sistema de gestão de qualidade (SGQ), alinhado ao quadro Europeu EQAVET. Esta comunicação pretende divulgar não só o projeto, como apresentar, também, o processo e alguns dos produtos já alcançados nesta parceria transnacional, nomeadamente as boas práticas desenhadas, implementadas e testadas pelos parceiros em contextos de sala de aula e formação de trabalho, histórias de vida de “VET reference persons”, narrativas de estudantes e testemunhos de parceiros e stakeholders para criar comunidades e aumentar a conexão, em tempo de pandemia Covid-19. A transnational partnership has been created to develop, since 2018, the Project no 2018 -I-PT OI-KA 202-O4774463, under the Erasmus + Program, KA2, entitled “School 4.0 - Innovation in VET”, to build the pillars to reinvent the school capable of responding to the new challenges and opportunities of Vocational Education Training of the current “liquid” times in which we live. The partnership is formed by four portuguese vocational schools, from the “Schools Network 4.0”, the European partners from Denmark and Greece, with the involvement of EfVET, having as scientific and pedagogical consultancy two researchers from the Research Centre for Human Development (CEDH) and consultants from the Support Service for the Improvement of Education (SAME), from Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Católica Porto, Portugal. The purpose of this transnational partnership is to co-build and publish an Intellectual Product (IO), in Portuguese and English, on paper and digital, with links in each partner's mother tongue, which constitutes an innovative theoretical-practical framework to help the different stakeholders to rethink and identify the changes to be introduced in the pedagogical, organizational and evaluative practices, in order to move from a traditional school, with only face-to-face classes, to a 21st century school, "SCHOOL 4.0", oriented towards positive change, with classes, also at a distance. As a research strategy, the Appreciative Inquiry (AI) and the guidelines of the quality management system (SGQ), in line with the European framework EQAVET, were followed. This communication aims to spread the project, the process and some of the products already achieved, namely good practices designed, implemented and tested by partners, in classroom contexts and narratives of graduates and testimonies of some partners to increase the social connection, in time of Covid- 19 pandemic.

    Background: A worldwide vaccination program is the chosen strategy against the COVID-19 pandemic. Vaccine hesitancy however, forms a threat because vaccine uptake is voluntary in most countries. Care-professionals of people with intellectual disabilities are exposed to greater risks than other healthcare workers due to the vulnerable group they attend to and the assisted-living facilities in which they often work. Little is still known of the reasons for vaccine hesitancy in this specific group in contrast to those of other healthcare workers. Objective: To provide insight in the intentions and attitudes on COVID-vaccination of healthcare workers, including those who care for people with intellectual disabilities, by means of a scoping review. Methods: The databases that were searched for papers are CINAHL, APA PsycArticles, APA PsycInfo, Web of Science, Semantic Scolar, Prospero, Outbreak Science, Cochrane and Scopus. The search was broadened to healthcare workers in general because only two papers were found on those caring for people with intellectual disabilities. A total of 26 papers were identified concerning the vaccine intentions of 43,199 healthcare workers worldwide. Data were gathered both quantitively and qualitatively. The papers were analysed for all themes regarding vaccine willingness and vaccine hesitancy. Results: The themes that came to light included: percentages of vaccine willingness, predictors of willingness differentiated by 11 sub-themes (mainly profession, age, gender and past vaccine behaviour), attitudes of willingness and hesitancy differentiated by 19 sub-themes (perceived COVID treat and protecting others for willingness, concerns on vaccine safety and efficacy for hesitancy), sources of vaccination information, contextual factors and changes in COVID-19 vaccine acceptance over time and finally, future strategies for interventions. Conclusions: There was overlap in the percentages of vaccination, predictors of vaccine willingness and the attitudes of vaccine willingness and hesitancy between healthcare workers and those caring for people with intellectual disabilities. Vaccine safety and efficacy are the most prominent concerns with regard to vaccine hesitancy. Therefore, future strategies for interventions should address vaccine safety and efficacy. Furthermore, interventions are recommended to be interactive in order to facilitate exchange. Discussion groups that are able to address specific concerns and personal experiences, show to be effective in addressing vaccine hesitancy. Accurate information can also be made more accessible to target groups by promoting video’s on social media platforms. Hence, further research is necessary to specify more precisely the attitudes of healthcare workers caring for people with intellectual disabilities and in more countries worldwide.
