    Authors: Silva, Beatriz Costa;

    O objetivo desta investigação é compreender como um grupo de mulheres grávidas durante a pandemia COVID-19 avaliam a sua qualidade de vida (QdV) e ajustamento diádico (AD) na gravidez e, retrospetivamente, antes da gravidez. Os instrumentos utilizados para a recolha de dados foram o EUROHIS-QOL-8, para avaliar a QDV, e a RDAS para o AD. Os principais resultados obtidos neste estudo evidenciaram que existem diferenças muito significativas entre os resultados das grávidas desta amostra e as grávidas de outro estudo de referência (antes do COVID-19). Os resultados indicam ainda que as mulheres apresentam menores níveis de QdV e satisfação diádica durante a gravidez. Foi ainda demonstrado que existe associação entre a QdV e o AD durante a gravidez, mas não antes da gravidez. Tanto quanto sabemos, este é o primeiro estudo em Portugal que pede às grávidas que se reportem à sua QdV e AD antes de estarem grávidas, apresentando uma vertente retrospetiva. Em acréscimo, tanto quanto é do nosso conhecimento, são muito poucos os estudos que procuram explorar a relação entre a qualidade de vida e o ajustamento diádico. Assim, pretende-se contribuir para o aumento do conhecimento sobre a vivência da gravidez durante a pandemia de COVID-19. The aim of this investigation is to understand how a group of pregnant women rate their quality of life and dyadic adjustment, both during their pregnancy and, in retrospect, before their pregnancy, during the COVID-19 pandemic. The instruments used for data collection were EUROHIS-QOL-8 to evaluate the quality of life, as well as RDAS to evaluate the dyadic adjustment. The main results from this study show that there are very significant differences between the pregnant women from this sample and the pregnant women from another reference study (before COVID-19). The results also show that women experience lower levels of quality of life and dyadic adjustment during pregnancy, but not before pregnancy. As far we know, this is the first study in Portugal that requests pregnant women to report about their quality of life and dyadic adjustment before they were pregnant, through the process of retrospect. Furthermore, as far as we know, there are very few studies that seek to explore the link between quality of live and dyadic adjustment. Therefore, our goal is to contribute for an increase of knowledge about the experience of being pregnant during the COVID-19 pandemic.

    Authors: Godinho, Margarida Baião Figueira Lopes;

    As alterações climáticas representam um perigo para os ecossistemas da Terra pela modificação das condições favoráveis para a sua sobrevivência, sendo que os seus efeitos negativos são cada vez mais sentidos por todos os seres vivos. A saúde humana não é exceção e encontra-se bastante ameaçada por fatores como o aumento da temperatura, a qualidade do ar, desastres naturais, epidemias, entre tantos outros. Este é um problema global onde é necessário conhecermos o risco a que estamos expostos através da implementação de métodos de trabalho que levem a uma constante monitorização e avaliação do risco e que sirva de suporte à toma de decisões conscientes, que permitam a adaptação de comportamentos e que salvem vidas. É notório o esforço da maior parte dos países e organizações para combater as consequências das alterações climáticas, através do Acordo de Paris ou do Pacto Ecológico Europeu, por exemplo. Estes estabelecem objetivos claros para reduzir as emissões de gases com efeito estufa para a atmosfera e medidas a implementar para alcançar esses mesmos objetivos. No entanto, a recente pandemia COVID-19, tornou-se um desafio atual que requer respostas imediatas, que não podem ser tomadas esquecendo o caminho para a sustentabilidade a longo prazo previamente definido. Estamos a combater duas crises neste momento e apesar da consciência ambiental e para a saúde estar a aumentar, estamos longe de chegar aos resultados que pretendemos. Falta urgência na ação política para implementar as estratégias que levam a uma transição para a economia verde e circular, mas encontramo-nos perante um cenário liderado pela União Europeia que garante a sustentabilidade numa solução holística. Sabemos, portanto, que a adaptação é necessária e que devemos repensar todas as nossas decisões a nível individual e principalmente organizacional. A análise ao cenário da indústria farmacêutica na adaptação para uma cadeia de abastecimento verde e os riscos que têm de ser considerados nesta transição, como riscos operacionais, financeiros ou de recuperação de produto, demonstram exatamente os esforços necessários para chegarmos a um equilíbrio entre o impacto que temos no planeta e a saúde humana. Climate change poses a danger to the Earth's ecosystems by modifying favorable conditions for its survival. Its negative effects are becoming increasingly noticeable upon all living beings. Factors such as rising temperatures, air quality, natural disasters, epidemics, among many others, are threatening the quality of life on the planet. Human health is no exception to this effect. This is a global problem where methodologies that lead to constant monitoring and risk assessment are necessary to serve as support for conscious decision-making. It is through this that we can adapt our behavior and save lives. The efforts of most countries and organizations to fight the negative effects of climate change, through the Paris Agreement or the European Ecological Pact, for example, are notorious. These set out clear goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere, and measures to be implemented to achieve those same objectives. However, the recent COVID-19 pandemic has become a current challenge that requires immediate response, and these measures cannot be taken if they threaten the previously defined path to long-term sustainability. We are tackling two crises simultaneously, and although environmental and health awareness is on the rise, we are far from achieving the results we desire. There is a lack of urgency in political action to implement the strategies that lead to a green and circular economy transition, but we face a scenario led by the European Union that guarantees sustainability in a holistic solution. We know, therefore, that adaptation is necessary and that we must rethink all our decisions as an individual and especially, at an organizational level. The analysis of the pharmaceutical industry in regard to changing to greener supply chain, demonstrates the efforts needed to reach a balance between the impact we have on the planet and human health. It’s important to consider the risks, such as operational, financial and product recovery risks, but it should not be an impediment to find a better option on the way we act about these issues.     Authors: Nascimento, Inês de Sousa;

    Numa era em claro e evidente crescimento tecnológico e digital as pessoas, independentemente da sua função ou hierarquia, são a maior património das organizações. Por isso, conhecer, reconhecer e valorizar são fulcrais para sua importância e caminho no sentido do sucesso sustentado. Esta dissertação tem como objetivo perceber a relação da resiliência no work engagement e burnout de trabalhadores temporários reunindo um conjunto de fundamentos teóricos e conclusões de um estudo sobre quatro fatores que sustentam conceitos estruturais sobre as organizações e indivíduos: Engagement. materializado num contexto laboral – Work Engagement; Burnout; Resiliência e Trabalho Temporário. Isto é, tem como principal objetivo capacitar o nível dos conceitos e a relação entre os temas acima referidos nos trabalhadores temporários associados a uma organização no período de COVID-19. Estes quatro pilares assumem-se cada vez mais como eixos fundamentais para alavancar os negócios, e claramente (re)impulsionados, (re)questionados e (re)trabalhados num contexto pandémico. São construtores do capital humanos, por este motivo a sua gestão equilibrada permite antecipar as oportunidades e ameaças num mercado em constante mudança e exigência competitiva. Este estudo tem por base uma amostra com cerca de 2050 participantes (trabalhadores temporários), onde se utilizou o tipo de investigação o método de pesquisa quantitativa. Onde se conseguiu verificar se tanto o Work Engagement, o Burnout e a Resiliência foram positivos no sentido em que realmente os Trabalhadores Temporários se sente com uma boa saúde mental. No entanto, existiram algumas limitações como se poderá verificar mais à frente na dissertação, sendo uma delas a questão de quando esta tese foi desenvolvida foi no mesmo tempo (espaço temporal diferente – COVID-19) onde o público-alvo não consegue comparar com outros tempos vividos anteriormente semelhantes, ou seja, é tudo novo. In an era of clear and evident technological and digital growth, people, regardless of their function or hierarchy, are the greatest asset of organizations. Therefore, knowing, recognizing and valuing are central to its importance and path towards sustained success. This dissertation aims to understand the relationship of resilience in engagement and burnout of temporary workers, bringing together a set of theoretical foundations and conclusions of a study on four factors that support structural concepts about organizations and individuals: Engagement. materialized in a work context – Work Engagement; Burnout; Resilience and Temporary Work. That is, its main objective is to enable the level of concepts and the relationship between the themes mentioned above in temporary workers associated with a particular organization in the period of COVID-19. These four pillars are increasingly assumed to be fundamental axes to leverage the business, and clearly (re)prompted, (re)questioned and (re)worked in a pandemic context. They are human capital builders, and for this reason their balanced management makes it possible to anticipate opportunities and threats in a market in constant change and competitive demand. This study is based on a sample of about 2050 participants (temporary workers), where the type of investigation and the quantitative research method were used. Where it was possible to verify whether Work Engagement, Burnout and Resilience were positive in the sense that the Temporary Workers really feel with good mental health. However, there were some limitations, as can be seen later in the dissertation, one of them being the issue of when this thesis was developed at the same time (different time frame - COVID-19) where the target audience cannot compare with others times previously lived similar, that is, everything is new.

    Authors: Gomes, Sofia;

    O ser humano preocupa-se com a sua saúde e ao fazê-lo procura prevenir a doença. Enquanto cientistas sociais, podemos (e devemos) equacionar o modo como estas preocupações se manifestam e como podem os indivíduos prevenir-se e favorecer o seu bem-estar. No momento atual, em que assistimos ao início do surto de COVID-19 em Portugal, esta preocupação com a saúde (por muitos chamada de histeria coletiva) é evidente. Partindo da ideia central de que o indivíduo se preocupa com seu estado de saúde e que é dotado da capacidade de comunicar, considero fundamental avaliar o papel da Comunicação e do Jornalismo em Saúde. É sobre estes dois ângulos que tenho vindo a desenvolver o meu trabalho científico no Centro de Estudos de Comunicação e Sociedade há quase uma década.

    O objectivo da Newsletter do Instituto de Saúde Baseado na Evidência (ISBE) é a disponibilização de informação sobre áreas relevantes para a prática clínica, baseada na melhor evidência científica. São localizados estudos relevantes e de alta qualidade, criticamente avaliados pela sua validade, importância dos resultados e aplicabilidade prática e resumidos numa óptica de suporte à decisão clínica. É dada prioridade aos estudos de causalidade – revisões sistemáticas, ensaios clínicos, estudos de coorte prospectivos/retrospectivos, estudos seccionais cruzados e caso‐controlo – incluindo‐se ainda, quando justificado, estudos qualitativos considerados de elevada qualidade metodológica e importância clínica.

    Authors: Pereira, Ana Rita Neves;

    Atendendo ao aumento da esperança média de vida e ao acentuado envelhecimento populacional, a presente investigação, realizado no âmbito do 2ºano do Mestrado de Psicologia Clínica e da Saúde, pretende realizar um estudo comparativo entre as representações sociais do envelhecimento ativo de 45 idosos institucionalizados em lares de acolhimento no distrito de Braga e de 45 cuidadores formais dos mesmos. Foram utilizados os seguintes instrumentos: Questionário Sociodemográfico, Questionário de Avaliação Funcional Multidimensional de Idosos (OARS) (Fillenbaum & Smyer, 1981), Questionário Atitudes face ao Envelhecimento, versão curta (AAQ-12) (Laidlaw, Kishita, Shenkin, & Power, 2018) e Escala de Atitudes de Kogan para com as Pessoas Idosas (AKPI) (Kogan, 1961). A implementação e recolha dos dados realizou-se durante os meses de Fevereiro e Março, tendo as mesmas sido suspensas devido às circunstâncias inerentes à pandemia Covid-19, e posteriormente retomadas no mês de Julho. A análise da informação recolhida foi desenvolvida através do programa de tratamento estatístico IBM SPSS, versão 23. Os resultados permitiram concluir diferenças significativas entre as representações sociais do envelhecimento ativo dos idosos e seus cuidadores formais, bem como uma relação significativa entre as representações sociais dos cuidadores formais e o tempo de prestação de serviços de cuidados dos mesmos. Verificou-se que variáveis sociodemográficas como o género e o nível escolar não estavam relacionadas com as representações sociais do envelhecimento ativo. Em contrapartida, foi encontrada uma associação negativa entre duas dimensões das representações sociais do envelhecimento ativo e a idade dos idosos. Considering the increase in life expectancy and the steep ageing of the population, the current investigation, carried out under the framework of the 2nd year of Masters in Clinical Psychology and Health, intends to carry out a comparative study the social representations of active ageing of 45 elderly institutionalized in nursing homes in the Braga District and 45 formal caregivers of them. The following instruments were used: Sociodemographic Questionnaire, the Functional Geriatric Evaluation of the Elderly questionnaire (OARS) (Fillenbaum & Smyer, 1981), the Attitudes to Ageing Questionnaire, short version (AAQ-12) (Laidlaw, Kishita, Shenkin, & Power, 2018) and the Kogan Attitude toward Old People Scale (AKPI) (Kogan, 1961). The implementation and data collection took place during the months of February and March and was suspended thereafter because of the circumstances of the Covid-19 pandemic, having been subsequently resumed in July. The analysis of the collected data was developed through the program of statistical data processing IBM SPSS, version 23. These results allowed for the conclusion that there are differences between the social representations of active ageing in the elderly and their formal caregivers, as well as a significant relationship between the social representations of formal caregivers and their time and experience as healthcare providers. It was also verified that sociodemographic variables, such as gender and school level qualifications, were not related to social representations of active ageing. Conversely, a negative association was observed between two dimensions of social representations of active ageing and the age of the elderly.

    Authors: Silva, Beatriz Costa;

    Authors: Godinho, Margarida Baião Figueira Lopes;

    As alterações climáticas representam um perigo para os ecossistemas da Terra pela modificação das condições favoráveis para a sua sobrevivência, sendo que os seus efeitos negativos são cada vez mais sentidos por todos os seres vivos. A saúde humana não é exceção e encontra-se bastante ameaçada por fatores como o aumento da temperatura, a qualidade do ar, desastres naturais, epidemias, entre tantos outros. Este é um problema global onde é necessário conhecermos o risco a que estamos expostos através da implementação de métodos de trabalho que levem a uma constante monitorização e avaliação do risco e que sirva de suporte à toma de decisões conscientes, que permitam a adaptação de comportamentos e que salvem vidas. É notório o esforço da maior parte dos países e organizações para combater as consequências das alterações climáticas, através do Acordo de Paris ou do Pacto Ecológico Europeu, por exemplo. Estes estabelecem objetivos claros para reduzir as emissões de gases com efeito estufa para a atmosfera e medidas a implementar para alcançar esses mesmos objetivos. No entanto, a recente pandemia COVID-19, tornou-se um desafio atual que requer respostas imediatas, que não podem ser tomadas esquecendo o caminho para a sustentabilidade a longo prazo previamente definido. Estamos a combater duas crises neste momento e apesar da consciência ambiental e para a saúde estar a aumentar, estamos longe de chegar aos resultados que pretendemos. Falta urgência na ação política para implementar as estratégias que levam a uma transição para a economia verde e circular, mas encontramo-nos perante um cenário liderado pela União Europeia que garante a sustentabilidade numa solução holística. Sabemos, portanto, que a adaptação é necessária e que devemos repensar todas as nossas decisões a nível individual e principalmente organizacional. A análise ao cenário da indústria farmacêutica na adaptação para uma cadeia de abastecimento verde e os riscos que têm de ser considerados nesta transição, como riscos operacionais, financeiros ou de recuperação de produto, demonstram exatamente os esforços necessários para chegarmos a um equilíbrio entre o impacto que temos no planeta e a saúde humana. Climate change poses a danger to the Earth's ecosystems by modifying favorable conditions for its survival. Its negative effects are becoming increasingly noticeable upon all living beings. Factors such as rising temperatures, air quality, natural disasters, epidemics, among many others, are threatening the quality of life on the planet. Human health is no exception to this effect. This is a global problem where methodologies that lead to constant monitoring and risk assessment are necessary to serve as support for conscious decision-making. It is through this that we can adapt our behavior and save lives. The efforts of most countries and organizations to fight the negative effects of climate change, through the Paris Agreement or the European Ecological Pact, for example, are notorious. These set out clear goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere, and measures to be implemented to achieve those same objectives. However, the recent COVID-19 pandemic has become a current challenge that requires immediate response, and these measures cannot be taken if they threaten the previously defined path to long-term sustainability. We are tackling two crises simultaneously, and although environmental and health awareness is on the rise, we are far from achieving the results we desire. There is a lack of urgency in political action to implement the strategies that lead to a green and circular economy transition, but we face a scenario led by the European Union that guarantees sustainability in a holistic solution. We know, therefore, that adaptation is necessary and that we must rethink all our decisions as an individual and especially, at an organizational level. The analysis of the pharmaceutical industry in regard to changing to greener supply chain, demonstrates the efforts needed to reach a balance between the impact we have on the planet and human health. It’s important to consider the risks, such as operational, financial and product recovery risks, but it should not be an impediment to find a better option on the way we act about these issues.
