    COVID-19 salgınının yaratacağı ekonomik tahribat ve politika yapıcılar tarafından ortaya atılan teşvik paketleri üzerine medyada oldukça yoğun bir tartışma söz konusu. Bir süredir gönüllü olarak evde kalma yoluyla çalışmalar sürüyor. Sosyal mesafelendirmenin salgının yayılmasının önlenmesi için en etkili yöntem olduğu göz önüne alındığında diğer birçok ülkede olduğu gibi Türkiye’de de bu tedbirler sıkılaştırılarak sokağa çıkma yasağına gerek görülebilir. Temel gıda ve sağlık ihtiyaçlarını sağlayanlar dışında insanların evlerine kapanması durumunda, iktisadi işlerin de sekteye uğrayacağı aşikâr. Böyle bir durumda işlerin ne kadarı evden yürütülebilir? Biz bu yazıda virüsün yayılmasından sonra alınan sosyal mesafe tedbirleri (veya daha sıkı tedbirler) bağlamında Türkiye’de hangi mesleklerin evde yapılmaya müsait olduğunu, bunların bölgesel ve endüstriyel bazda nasıl farklılıklar gösterdiklerini ve ücretlerden aldıkları payları belirlemeye çalıştık. Bu çalışma mevcut şartların, meslek grupları, sektörler ve de bölgeler üstündeki olası etkileri hakkında bir fikir edinmeyi hedefledik.

    COVID-19 salgınının işgücü piyasasının genelini aynı şiddetle etkilemeyeceği, belirli kesimleri daha çok etkileyeceği konusunda yoğun bir tartışma -hatta bir konsensüs- söz konusu. Örneğin İngiltere ve ABD için yapılan bazı çalışmalar, özellikle düşük gelirli ve kısa dönemli iş kontratlarına sahip gençlerin daha çok etkileneceğini belirtiyor.[1] Yine başka bir çalışma da İngiltere’de küçük işletmelerde çalışan erkeklerin yaklaşık yüzde 8 civarında bir ücret kaybı yaşayacağını öngörüyor.[2] Türkiye’de ise genç işsizliğin yüzde 40’lara varacağı[3], halıhazırdaki gelir desteklerinin savunması düşük kesimleri korumaya yetmeyeceğini tahmin eden çalışmalar mevcut.[4] 12 Nisan 2020’de Sarkaç’ta yayınlanan önceki yazımızda[5] Türkiye’de mesleklerin ne kadarının evden yapılabildiğini, bu mesleklerin sektörel, bölgesel ve ana meslek kolları bazında incelemiş, eğitim düzeyi ile evden çalışabilme ilişkisine de kısaca değinmiştik. Bu yazıda ise eğitim boyutunu daha detaylı bir şekilde ele aldıktan sonra, evden çalışmanın gelir eşitsizlikleri ve kayıt dışı istihdam ile olan ilişkisini TÜİK’in 2018 yılına ait Hanehalkı İşgücü Araştırması Anketine dayalı olarak inceleyip yorumlamaya çalışacağız.

    Son günlerde tüm dünyayı saran ve dünya çapında salgın (pandemi) olarak nitelendirilen Yeni Tip Koronavirüs salgını görülen ülkelerde ölümlere neden olmaktadır ve tüm insanlığı ciddi anlamda tehdit etmektedir. Tüm dünyada olduğu gibi ülkemizde de tüm alanlarda ciddi önlemler alınmaktadır. Avrupa Şampiyonaları, uluslararası spor organizasyonları, konferanslar, kongreler, dini törenler ve çeşitli alanlarda organizasyonlar ertelenmekte ya da iptal edilmektedir. Resmi kurumlarca dünya genelinde bazı yasaklar ve tavsiye niteliğinde kararlar alınmaktadır. Ülkemizde, Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Sağlık Bakanlığı ciddi önlemler almakta ve anbean tüm paydaşlar ile görüşerek uygulamalar yapmaktadır. Ülkemizden yurtdışına ve yurtdışından ülkemize seyahat kısıtlamaları konarak ve karantinalar uygulanarak virüsün ülkemizde yayılmasının önüne geçilmek istenmektedir. Ayrıca Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı ve Yükseköğretim Kurulu tarafından eğitime ara verildi. Resmi makamlar ve uzmanlar, öğrenciler tarafından bu aranın tatil, gezi, kahvehane, kafeteryalar ve alışveriş merkezlerinde değerlendirilmemesi ve evde kalınması gerektiği ile ilgili ciddi uyarılarda bulunulmaktadır. Ancak çocukların, gençlerin ve ebeveynlerin bu durumda evde kalmalarını sağlayacak ve bu süreci can sıkıntısı yaşamadan geçirmeleri için bazı tavsiyelerde bulunulması önemli görülmektedir. Serbest zamanın içerisinde son derece önemli yere sahip rekreasyon faaliyetlerinden ev içi rekreatif oyunlar bu zaman diliminde yapılacak faaliyetlerin başında gelecektir. Bu çalışmada bireylerin yeni tip Koronavirüs kaynaklı evde kalmalarda uygulayabilecekleri ev içi rekreatif oyunların incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bireylerin rekreatif oyunlar ile evde kaldıkları süreçte eğlenceli vakit geçirebilecekleri, ev içindeki bireyler ile boş zaman faaliyetleri için ciddi caydırıcı ve engelleyici olarak nitelendirilebilecek aşırı teknoloji, internet ve akıllı telefon kullanımından, aşırı ekran sürelerinden uzak durarak verimli zaman geçirebilecekleri düşünülmektedir. In recent days, the Novel Coronavirus-Covid 19 epidemic, which has surrounded the world and has been described as a pandemic worldwide, causes deaths and threatens all humanity seriously. Serious measures are taken in all areas in the whole world. European Championships, international sports organizations, conferences, congresses, religious ceremonies and organizations in various fields are postponed or canceled. Some prohibitions and advisory decisions are taken by official institutions worldwide. In Turkey, the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Health is to take serious measures and applies moment to moment consultation with all stakeholders. It is desired to prevent the spread of the virus in country by setting travel restrictions from abroad and abroad to our country and by applying quarantines. In addition, education was interrupted by the Ministry of National Education and the Higher Education Council. Official authorities and experts seriously warn students that this brake should not be evaluated as holidays, trips, time for coffee shops, cafeterias and shopping centers and they should stay at home. However, it is important to make some recommendations for children, young people and parents to stay at home in this situation and to pass this process without any boredom. For this time staying at home, among the recreational activities that have an extremely important place in free time, recreational games will be one of the activities to be carried out. In this study, it is aimed to examine the recreational games that individuals can apply in new types of coronavirus-induced home stays. It isthought that individuals can have fun during their stay at home with recreational games, and they can spend productive time by avoiding excessive technology, internet and smartphone usage, excessive screen times, which can be described as serious deterrent and constraint for leisure activities with individuals at home.

    The current study investigates the perspectives and experiences of teachers regarding their school principal’s digital leadership roles and technology capabilities during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research was conducted using a case study-based qualitative approach, and with a study group consisting of 89 teachers holding a Master’s degree. Maximum diversity sampling, one of the purposive sampling methods, was preferred in the determination of the study group, and the data obtained from the research were analyzed through content analysis. The five main themes determined based on the perceptions and experiences of the participants are listed as: “Digital technology usage, support for the digital transformation, support for technology-based professional development, support for digital learning culture, and digital leadership skills”. The results of the research revealed that the level of use of digital technologies by school principals during the COVID-19 pandemic was perceived as adequate by teachers. In addition, it was determined that school principals support digital transformation and technology-based professional development in schools. Furthermore, within the scope of the research, it was determined that school principals contribute to the construction of a digital learning culture in schools. The results of the study revealed that school principals’ digital leadership skills were clustered under three categories: technology use, managerial skills, and individual skills. As a result, in order to realize digital transformation within the context of K-12 education, school principals must first demonstrate their digital leadership and actively support the establishment of a digital learning culture in their schools. © 2021 by the authors.     In this study, a highly sensitive, electrochemical, and label-free DNA impedimetric sensor was developed using carbonized glass fiber-coal tar pitch (GF-CTP) electrodes supported with gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) for the detection of HIV-1 gene. Thiol-modified GF-CTP electrodes were prepared using amine crosslinking chemistry and AuNPs were self-assembled obtaining highly conductive nanoelectrodes, GF-CTP-ATP-Au. All steps of electrode modifications were characterized using electrochemical, spectroscopic, and microscopic methods. GF-CTP-ATP-Au electrode was then modified with a capture DNA probe (C-ssDNA) and optimized with a target DNA probe in terms of hybridization time and temperature between 30 and 180 min and 20-50 degrees C, respectively. Finally, the analytic performance of the developed ssDNA biosensor was evaluated using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The calibration of the sensor was obtained between 0.1 pM and 10 nM analyte working range. The limit of detection was calculated using signal to noise ratio of 3 (S/N = 3) as 13 fM. Moreover, interference results for two noncomplementary DNA probes were also tested to demonstrate non-specific ssDNA interactions. An electrochemical label-free DNA impedimetric sensor was successfully developed using a novel GF-CTP-ATP-Au electrode.     This article presents a potential solution based on the Internet of Medical Things for the COVID-19 epidemic, which determines the symptoms of the disease without required any user action and warns the user. In medical studies on COVID-19 in the literature, the most common symptoms encountered since the onset of COVID-19 disease have been reported as fever, dry cough, fatigue, anorexia, anosmia, and dyspnea. The average incubation period is 5 days; therefore, it is very important to detect the symptoms even before the infected people notice the signs, and warn them. Thus, it can be ensured that they isolate themselves from society against the possible disease condition and prevent the spread of the disease. A wrist-worn device that does not physically disturb the person is proposed to track the health conditions of the person and detect the symptoms of COVID-19 at the early stages. © 2012 IEEE.

    In this study, instrumental learning in music education in the context of distance education courses in Turkey during the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic was examined. In this context; The views of 42 music teachers from Ankara who had previously provided distance education or never had been consulted were collected. The questionnaire was applied over the internet with a Google form survey. According to the results; Teachers' use of technology, their attitudes towards online lessons, and the status of online instrument training before and in the process of the pandemic period were evaluated. The research is a descriptive study aimed at determining the situation; It was conducted in a general survey model. Regarding data collection; Survey questions were prepared for literature review and teacher opinions. The data obtained are expressed and interpreted in basic statistical units. According to the study's findings, it was observed that teachers mainly used online lessons during the Covid-19 pandemic process. The most problematic issue about online lessons is defined as problems with musical instruments. Bu araştırmada, küresel korona salgını süreci içerisinde Türkiye’deki müzik eğitiminde çalgı derslerinin uzaktan eğitim modeli ile yürütülmesindeki durum incelenmiştir. Bu bağlamda; daha önceden uzaktan eğitim veren ya da hiç vermemiş olan 42 müzik öğretmeninin görüşlerine başvurulmuş ve hazırlanan anket, Google form ile internet üzerinden uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler ışığında; öğretmenlerin teknoloji kullanım durumları, çevrim içi derse karşı tutumları, pandemi dönemi öncesi ve sürecinde çevrim içi çalgı eğitiminin durumu değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırma, durum tespitine yönelik betimsel bir çalışma olup; genel tarama modelinde yürütülmüştür. Veri toplamaya yönelik olarak; alan yazın tarama ve öğretmen görüşleri için anket soruları hazırlanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler ise betimsel istatistiklerle analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgulara göre öğretmenlerin Covid-19 pandemisi sürecinde ağırlıklı olarak çevrim içi ders yaptığı görülmüştür. Çevrim içi ders ile ilgili öğretmenlerin en çok sorun olarak bildirdiği konunun ise enstrüman kaynaklı problemler olduğu görülmüştür.

    The pandemic caused by the COVID-19 virus has resulted in inevitable radical changes across almost all areas of daily life, with the pandemic having revealed perhaps the greatest crisis humanity has faced in modern history. This study aims to provide thematic and methodological recommendations for future sustainable research programs through a bibliometric analysis of publications focused on management, leadership, and administration related to COVID-19. The data for the study were obtained from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) bibliographic database and then analyzed according to thematic content analysis and bibliometric methodology. The study’s units of analysis include countries, journals, keywords, research models, sample/study group, and time to publication. VOSviewer software and visualization maps were used to report the findings obtained from the analyzed data. When the study’s results are evaluated regarding the number of related publications and total citations, it can be revealed that Anglo-American-, Chinese-, and European-centered dominance continues in COVID-19-related studies. The vast majority of publications on this subject area are concentrated in the field of health. In addition, the study’s findings revealed that the examined articles were generally published in journals considered as prestigious, have high impact factors, are published in the English language, and with articles published in a short time after a much-reduced editorial/review and publishing process. Unlike previous bibliometric reviews, this research comprehensively analyzed the management-, leadership-, and administration-oriented publications related to COVID-19 with a holistic approach, providing essential findings and recommendations for future sustainable thematic research opportunities. © 2021 by the authors.     The Covid-19 virus has been recognized by the World Health Organization to be creating Pandemic worldwide. It has been determined that the virus spreads very quickly and has a fatal risk in people with chronic disease. As the virus vaccine and medications to be used for treatment are not fully developed, alternative ways to protect human being from the virus are being investigated. In this study, a custom-made mask design was developed to prevent infection of the virus and computer-aided simulations were performed. Three-dimensional model of the custom-made face mask was created with the SolidWorks software. The analyses were performed using Ansys Workbench Explicit Dynamics module. The load, boundary conditions and material were defined in the Ansys Workbench. As a result of the simulations, it has been determined that custom-made designed masks have a much lower risk of virus infection than conventional masks. © 2021, The Indian Institute of Metals - IIM.

    OBJECTIVE: To determine ergonomic problems when working from home during the COVID-19 pandemic with regard to musculoskeletal pain, sleep conditions, physical activity, resting, equipment, and productivity. METHODS: In this cross-sectional study, office workers who switched to working from home during the COVID-19 pandemic participated in an online survey (n = 194). The data were interpreted using descriptive and multivariate regression analysis. RESULTS: A significant increase in back pain was revealed (P < 0.001). Significant weight gain was observed (P < 0.001) connected to a decrease in physical activity and an increase in the consumption of junk food. Despite the negative health impact, participants self-reported an increase in productivity. CONCLUSION: The self-reported productivity was higher during the working from home, but a declining trend in employee health can be observed including low back pain and weight gain.
