The aim of this investigation is to understand how a group of pregnant women rate their quality of life and dyadic adjustment, both during their pregnancy and, in retrospect, before their pregnancy, during the COVID-19 pandemic. The instruments used for data collection were EUROHIS-QOL-8 to evaluate the quality of life, as well as RDAS to evaluate the dyadic adjustment. The main results from this study show that there are very significant differences between the pregnant women from this sample and the pregnant women from another reference study (before COVID-19). The results also show that women experience lower levels of quality of life and dyadic adjustment during pregnancy, but not before pregnancy. As far we know, this is the first study in Portugal that requests pregnant women to report about their quality of life and dyadic adjustment before they were pregnant, through the process of retrospect. Furthermore, as far as we know, there are very few studies that seek to explore the link between quality of live and dyadic adjustment. Therefore, our goal is to contribute for an increase of knowledge about the experience of being pregnant during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This Internship Report (IR) is part of the Supervised Teaching Practice Curricular Unit, inserted the study plan of the Master's Degree in Teaching in the 1st Cycle of Basic Education (CBE) and Mathematics and Natural Sciences in the 2nd Cycle of Basic Education. This IR provides a reflective analysis of the master's student's journey throughout the (STP), following an research-action methodology in each of the contexts with which he was in contact with, going through the four phases that support it: observation, planning, action and reflection. In this IR, we also find the research project built and developed during the entire STP. During said STP, the Master’s student had the opportunity to contact the 1st CBE and the 2nd CBE, at different times, having the need to change and adapt his methods while in each of these contexts, taking into account the particularities of each one. This contact was always made in person, although it was often not possible to be with all the students, since almost every week there were some in isolation, due to the (at the time) ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Throughout the process, it was aimed to integrate technologies into the educative process of these students, using technological resources in the classrooms, applying them in different ways depending on the familiarity of the contexts with a particular resource and in order to understand possible advantages and disadvantages of certain material, being, therefore, the present IR entitled Learning to dream: technologies in Education.

Menopause is a natural process of the woman's reproductive cycle, it is a physiological event that occurs after 12 months of amenorrhea. It originates in the loss of follicular function of the ovaries and in the secretion of estrogens, which leads to hormonal disruption, which can lead to physical, psychological and even social changes in women at this stage of the life cycle. This study aimed to understand the predictors of health status in women who are at different stages of menopause (pre, peri and post), in terms of health indicators (psychological well-being and social support) and behavioral behaviors. health (physical exercise, food, alcohol consumption and tobacco consumption), taking into account their marital status. This study is pertinent, since the health status appears often compromised in these women, due to the changes underlying this phase of life. The sample was collected in digital format, due to the confinement that the Covid- 19 pandemic involved. It consists of women who are in menopause. For data collection, several validated questionnaires were applied to the Portuguese population that assess the variables under study. The results revealed statistically significant differences between women at different stages of menopause (pre, peri and post) in terms of health indicators (psychological well-being and social support) and health behaviors (physical exercise, diet, alcohol consumption) and tobacco consumption). It was found that health indicators (psychological well-being and social support) and health behaviors (physical exercise, diet, alcohol consumption and tobacco consumption) correlate with the health status of women in menopause. Age and satisfaction with the family proved to be predictors of health status in women in menopause. Age moderated the relationship between health behaviors (physical exercise, diet, alcohol consumption and tobacco consumption) and health status in menopausal women.

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a disease that has seen worldwide representation. Among the factors identified that contribute to increased morbity and mortality in the population affected by this disease, secondary infections pose as an important threat to the outcome of these patients. One of these infections, Invasive Candidiasis, has been identified as an important complication. It’s high mortality rates make it important to study this population. This master’s thesis will focus on Invasive Candidiasis in Covid-19 patients. Data regarding the cases described in the literature will be revised and discussed to better understand this problematic. We found a greater incidence and mortality associated with Invasive Candidiasis occurring in Covid-19 patients. Studies that compare patients with and without the disease show that Covid-19 patients have higher incidence and mortality rates. The data shown enables the generation of hypothesis that could guide future research in this area.
