    Abstract The aim of the study is to diagnose Covid-19 by machine learning algorithms using biochemical parameters. In addition to the aim of the study, October selection was performed using 14 different feature selection methods based on the biochemical parameters available to us. As a result of the study, the performance of the algorithms and feature selection methods was evaluated using performance evaluation criteria. The dataset used in the study consists of 100 covid-negative and 121 covid-positive data from a total of 221 patients. The dataset includes 16 biochemical parameters used for the diagnosis of Covid-19. Feature selection methods were used to reduce the number of parameters and perform the classification process. The result of the study shows that the new feature set obtained using feature selection algorithms yields very similar results to the set containing all features. Overall, 5 features obtained from 16 features by feature selection methods yielded the best performance for the K-Nearest Neighbour algorithm with the FSVFS feature selection method of 86.4 %.

    Abstract COVID‐19 is a febrile, infectious illness that has previously been associated with telogen effluvium (TE). However, to date, no study has been conducted to determine the incidence of TE in those who have had COVID‐19. To assess the frequency of TE in post‐COVID‐19 patients and the correlation between the development of TE and the severity of COVID‐19, to understand whether emotional stress or medications are responsible for the development of TE. Totally 204 patients with a history of SARS‐CoV‐2 infection in the last 3 months were included in the study. The diagnosis of TE was made by history of excessive hair shedding, hair pull test, diffuse or bitemporal thinning, and absence of anisotrichosis in trichoscopy. Patients who did not have any TE cause other than COVID‐19 and whose hair loss started after COVID‐19 were considered as “COVID‐19 associated TE (CATE).” We found TE in 75 (36.7%) cases and androgenetic alopecia (AGA) in 85 (41.7%) cases. CATE was present in 27.9% of cases and developed on average 53.76 (± 23.772) days after COVID‐19 real‐time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT‐PCR) positivity. The proportion of patients with CATE was numerically higher in hospitalized patients compared to outpatients (31.7% vs. 24.3%; p = 0.238); and significantly higher in women compared to men (42.3% vs. 6.2%; p < 0.001), in patients with hypertension compared to those without hypertension (40.4% vs. 23.1%; p = 0.014), and in patients who had respiratory symptoms compared to those who had not (31.7% vs. 14.0%; p = 0.021). The patients with and without CATE were similar in terms of stress level and usage of COVID‐19 medications. Patients with AGA had a higher rate of hospitalization (69.4% vs. 35.3%; p < 0.001) and a higher incidence of fever (69.4% vs. 54.6%; p = 0.033) during COVID‐19, compared to those without. TE developed in approximately one‐quarter of people who have had COVID‐19, and our study is the first to detect it. The time to onset of CATE, which was 7–8 weeks after the SARS‐CoV‐2 RT‐PCR positivity, was not much different from post‐infectious TE. Patients with severe COVID‐19 seem to be more prone to develop TE. The presence of AGA is associated with a more severe COVID‐19. During the pandemic, clinicians should consider a previous SARS‐CoV‐2 infection in patients presenting with hair loss.

    Günümüzde, sosyal medya platformları duyguları ifade etmenin en iyi yoludur. Yaklaşık iki yıldır, Covid-19 yeni koronavirüs salgının ortaya çıkması tüm dünyada olduğu gibi ülkemizde de insanların üzerinde benzeri görülmemiş karmaşık duygular yarattı. Covid-19’a karşı aşı çalışmalarının başlamasından sonra insanların duyguları daha karmaşık hale geldi. Daha yakın zamanda, Covid-19’un Delta, Omicron vb. varyantlarının çıkması da toplumda yeniden büyük bir korku yarattı. İnsanlar, bu süreçte duygu ve düşüncelerini paylaşmak üzere Twitter gibi sosyal medya araçlarına yöneldi. Twitter’da duygu analizi yapmak çok önemli ve zorlu bir görevdir. Bu çalışmada amacımız, derin öğrenme mimarilerinin gücünden faydalanarak Türk halkının aşılama süreciyle ilgili farklı duygularını araştırmak ve halkın mevcut aşılama girişimlerine yönelik tepkilerine genel bir bakış sunmaktır. Çalışmada, Twitter’da 16 Haziran 2021 ve 18 Eylül 2021 arasında paylaşılan Türkçe tweetler toplanmıştır. İnsanların her türden aşılarla ilgili duyguları, doğal dil işleme (NLP) aracı olan TextBlob kullanılarak değerlendirildi. Daha sonra, duygu sınıflandırması için yeni bir model önerildi. Önerilen model, Glove kelime gömme vektörüyle tek katmanlı Çift-yönlü Geçitli Tekrarlayan Birim (Bi-GRU) ve Evrişimli Sinir Ağı (CNN) modelini kullanan BiGRU-CNN modelidir. Önerilen yöntemin deneysel sonuçları en son modellerle kıyaslandığında umut vericidir. Bu çalışma, halkın COVID-19 aşıları hakkındaki görüşlerinin anlaşılmasını geliştirmekte ve koronavirüsü dünyadan yok etme hedefini desteklemektedir.

    Bu araştırma, COVID-19 pandemisi sürecinde bir üniversite hastanesinde görev yapan sağlık çalışanlarının çalışan sadakati ve organizasyonel sadakat düzeylerini belirlemek, sadakat düzeylerinin sosyodemografik değişkenlere göre farklılaşıp farklılaşmadığını ortaya koymak ve çalışan sadakat düzeyini etkileyen organizasyonel faktörleri incelemek amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Örneklem seçiminde meslek grupları temel alınarak tabakalı rastgele örneklem yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Verilerin elde edilmesinde gönüllülük esas alınmış, yüz yüze görüşme ile anket yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma 385 sağlık çalışanının katılımı ile tamamlanmıştır (N=667). Verilerin toplanmasında sosyodemografik bilgi formu ve “Çalışan Sadakati Anketi ile Organizasyonel Sadakat ve Belirleyicileri Anketi” kullanılmıştır. Sonuçlar tanımlayıcı istatistikler, t test, ANOVA, Pearson korelasyon analizi ve çoklu doğrusal regresyon analizi ile elde edilmiştir. Katılımcıların çalışan sadakati (ort:3,3±1,35) düzeylerinin orta seviyede olduğu; çalışan sadakatiyle incelenen tüm organizasyonel sadakat belirleyicileri arasında pozitif ve yüksek düzeyde anlamlı ilişkiler olduğu (r=0,736-0,856; p=0,000) belirlenmiştir. Çoklu doğrusal regresyon analizi sonuçları; sadakatin organizasyonel belirleyicilerinin hep birlikte çalışan sadakati üzerindeki toplam varyansın %74’ünü açıkladığını göstermiştir. Sağlık çalışanlarının sadakatini belirleyen organizasyonel faktörlerin göreli önem sırası ise çalışan memnuniyeti (β=0,446), ücretlendirme (β=0,405) ve personel eğitimi (β=0,108) şeklindedir. Araştırma sonuçlarının sağlık çalışanlarının organizasyonel sadakatlerinin artırılması konusunda sağlık yöneticilerine rehberlik edeceği düşünülmektedir.

    This study aimed to examine in-depth whether chemistry teachers include experimental studies in their classes during the Covid-19 process and if not, the reasons for this. For this purpose, the study was carried out according to the case study pattern, one of the qualitative research designs. A total of 47 chemistry teachers, 36 female and 11 male, working in different provinces of Turkey, were included in the study through easily accessible sampling. A Google form developed to collect data was used as a data collection tool and data analysis was carried out with content analysis. It was determined that 64% of the teachers in the study group did not include experimental work in their courses in the distance education process, and they put forward six reasons: environment inconsistency, student-oriented, program-oriented, exam-oriented, personal and technical reasons. It was determined that 72% of the teachers were aware of the interactive experiment videos on the OGM material site, while 66% of the chemistry teachers viewed these experiment videos. While 26 of the 31 teachers who examined the experiments stated that the videos were useful, suitable for the student's level and could contribute to learning, it was concluded that five teachers thought the videos were insufficient numerically. Another conclusion reached in the study is that most of the chemistry teachers participating in the study want to receive training on how to use experimental studies in lessons during the distance education process. At the end of the study, suggestions about how chemistry teachers can add experimental studies to their lessons and for the training of prospective chemistry teachers are given. Thus, it is foreseen that the results of the study can be a guide for teachers working in schools that do not have laboratory facilities, as well as how experimental studies can be added to the lessons in case of possible distance education planning. Bu çalışmada kimya öğretmenlerinin Covid-19 sürecinde derslerinde deneysel çalışmalara yer verip vermedikleri ve yer verilmediyse bunun nedenlerinin derinlemesine incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmaya Türkiye’nin farklı illerinde görev yapan 36 kadın ve 11 erkek olmak üzere toplam 47 kimya öğretmeni katılmıştır. Çalışmada veri toplamak üzere geliştirilen bir Google form veri toplama aracı olarak kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada, çalışma grubunda yer alan öğretmenlerin %64’ünün uzaktan eğitim sürecinde derslerinde deneysel çalışmaya yer vermedikleri ve deneysel çalışmalara yer vermeme nedenlerinin, ortam uygunsuzluğu, öğrenci odaklı nedenler, program odaklı nedenler, sınav odaklı nedenler, kişisel nedenler ve teknik nedenler olmak üzere altı başlık altında toplandığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Öğretmenlerin %72’sinin OGM materyal sitesinde yer alan etkileşimli deney videolarından haberdar oldukları belirlenirken, kimya öğretmenlerinin %66’sının bu deney videolarını inceledikleri belirlenmiştir. Deneyleri inceleyen öğretmenlerin önemli bir kısmı videoları yararlı, öğrenci seviyesine uygun ve öğrenmeye katkı sağlayabilecek olduğunu belirtirken öğretmenlerin az bir kısmı videoların sayısal anlamda yetersiz olduğunu düşündüğü sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Çalışmada ulaşılan diğer bir sonuç, çalışmaya katılan kimya öğretmenlerinin büyük bir kısmının uzaktan eğitim sürecinde deneysel çalışmaları derslerde nasıl kullanacaklarına yönelik bir eğitim almak istedikleri şeklindedir. Çalışma sonunda kimya öğretmenleri için bu tür bir eğitimin nasıl olması gerektiği konusunda ve kimya öğretmen yetiştirilmesine yönelik önerilere yer verilmiştir. Böylece çalışma sonuçları, hem olası bir uzaktan eğitim planlaması durumunda deneysel çalışmalar konusunda neler yapılabileceği hem de laboratuvar imkânı olmayan okullarda görev yapan öğretmenlere yol gösterici olunabilir.

    Coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) is known to cause sepsis-associated hypercoagulopathy. Thromboembolic complications affecting many systems associated with COVID-19 disease have been described in the literature. The direct effect of this virus on male urogenital organs and possible testicular damage is still being evaluated. Follow-up studies in recovering male patients are necessary to investigate the possibility of testicular damage. In this article, we aimed to present a 30-year-old patient who presented with acute testicular pain and was diagnosed with testicular infarction due to COVID-19 with ultrasonography and contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging findings.

    The aim of this study is to determine the effects of Covid-19 pandemic on country economies at global level and to evaluate the tax measures in selected countries where the effects of coronavirus epidemic are seen at a high level. In the study, possible economic effects and tax regulations in countries have been determined by compilation method. In the study, the emergence of Covid-19 epidemic and the population losses experienced by the countries were determined by using various statistics in the most affected countries. When the economic effects of Covid-19 epidemic are examined, it is predicted that total expenditures will decrease, consumption habits will change, and countries will experience stagnation. Of the total expenditure items, only transfer expenditures are expected to increase. In terms of tax regulations, it has been observed that there are regulations on value added tax and corporate tax for the countries studied. Bu çalışmanın amacı koronavirüs pandemisinin küresel düzeyde ülke ekonomileri üzerindeki etkileri belirlemek ve koronavirüs salgınının etkilerinin yüksek düzeyde görüldüğü seçilen ülkelerdeki vergisel önlemleri değerlendirmektir. Çalışmada derleme yöntemiyle ülkelerdeki olası ekonomik etkiler ve vergisel düzenlemeler belirlenmiştir. Çalışmada koronavirüs salgının ortaya çıkışı, en çok etkilenen ülkelerdeki çeşitli istatistikler kullanılarak ülkelerin yaşadıkları nüfus kayıpları belirlenmiştir. Covid-19 salgınının ekonomik etkileri incelendiğinde toplam harcamaların azalacağı, tüketim alışkanlıklarının değişeceği, ülkelerin durgunluk yaşayacağı öngörülmektedir. Toplam harcama kalemlerinden yalnızca transfer harcamalarının artacağı öngörülmektedir. Vergisel düzenlemeler açısındansa incelenen ülkeler özelinde katma değer vergisi ve kurumlar vergisinde düzenlemeler yapıldığı görülmüştür.

    The use of herbs in treatment has started with the history of humanity and a significant number of effective drugs are being developed from herbal sources. Primary and secondary metabolites, which are natural products produced by plants, are the most basic products of the industry directly or indirectly. One of these groups is alkaloids. Alkaloids show antiviral effects in viral diseases. COVID-19, which started in China and spread to many countries, has become an epidemic that threatens all humanity worldwide as "Coronavirus Pandemic". No reliable and certified drug has yet been developed for this virus. Recent important research shows that plant-based substances can be potential candidates for developing effective and safe drugs against this virus. Referring to such recent studies, this study primarily shows that the antiviral potentials of some alkaloids especially quinine and artemisinin and its derivatives. In addition, the importance of antiviral plant substances in the development of a broad-spectrum drug for SARS-CoV-2 is emphasized.

    Abstract The aim of the study is to diagnose Covid-19 by machine learning algorithms using biochemical parameters. In addition to the aim of the study, October selection was performed using 14 different feature selection methods based on the biochemical parameters available to us. As a result of the study, the performance of the algorithms and feature selection methods was evaluated using performance evaluation criteria. The dataset used in the study consists of 100 covid-negative and 121 covid-positive data from a total of 221 patients. The dataset includes 16 biochemical parameters used for the diagnosis of Covid-19. Feature selection methods were used to reduce the number of parameters and perform the classification process. The result of the study shows that the new feature set obtained using feature selection algorithms yields very similar results to the set containing all features. Overall, 5 features obtained from 16 features by feature selection methods yielded the best performance for the K-Nearest Neighbour algorithm with the FSVFS feature selection method of 86.4 %.

    Abstract COVID‐19 is a febrile, infectious illness that has previously been associated with telogen effluvium (TE). However, to date, no study has been conducted to determine the incidence of TE in those who have had COVID‐19. To assess the frequency of TE in post‐COVID‐19 patients and the correlation between the development of TE and the severity of COVID‐19, to understand whether emotional stress or medications are responsible for the development of TE. Totally 204 patients with a history of SARS‐CoV‐2 infection in the last 3 months were included in the study. The diagnosis of TE was made by history of excessive hair shedding, hair pull test, diffuse or bitemporal thinning, and absence of anisotrichosis in trichoscopy. Patients who did not have any TE cause other than COVID‐19 and whose hair loss started after COVID‐19 were considered as “COVID‐19 associated TE (CATE).” We found TE in 75 (36.7%) cases and androgenetic alopecia (AGA) in 85 (41.7%) cases. CATE was present in 27.9% of cases and developed on average 53.76 (± 23.772) days after COVID‐19 real‐time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT‐PCR) positivity. The proportion of patients with CATE was numerically higher in hospitalized patients compared to outpatients (31.7% vs. 24.3%; p = 0.238); and significantly higher in women compared to men (42.3% vs. 6.2%; p < 0.001), in patients with hypertension compared to those without hypertension (40.4% vs. 23.1%; p = 0.014), and in patients who had respiratory symptoms compared to those who had not (31.7% vs. 14.0%; p = 0.021). The patients with and without CATE were similar in terms of stress level and usage of COVID‐19 medications. Patients with AGA had a higher rate of hospitalization (69.4% vs. 35.3%; p < 0.001) and a higher incidence of fever (69.4% vs. 54.6%; p = 0.033) during COVID‐19, compared to those without. TE developed in approximately one‐quarter of people who have had COVID‐19, and our study is the first to detect it. The time to onset of CATE, which was 7–8 weeks after the SARS‐CoV‐2 RT‐PCR positivity, was not much different from post‐infectious TE. Patients with severe COVID‐19 seem to be more prone to develop TE. The presence of AGA is associated with a more severe COVID‐19. During the pandemic, clinicians should consider a previous SARS‐CoV‐2 infection in patients presenting with hair loss.

    Günümüzde, sosyal medya platformları duyguları ifade etmenin en iyi yoludur. Yaklaşık iki yıldır, Covid-19 yeni koronavirüs salgının ortaya çıkması tüm dünyada olduğu gibi ülkemizde de insanların üzerinde benzeri görülmemiş karmaşık duygular yarattı. Covid-19’a karşı aşı çalışmalarının başlamasından sonra insanların duyguları daha karmaşık hale geldi. Daha yakın zamanda, Covid-19’un Delta, Omicron vb. varyantlarının çıkması da toplumda yeniden büyük bir korku yarattı. İnsanlar, bu süreçte duygu ve düşüncelerini paylaşmak üzere Twitter gibi sosyal medya araçlarına yöneldi. Twitter’da duygu analizi yapmak çok önemli ve zorlu bir görevdir. Bu çalışmada amacımız, derin öğrenme mimarilerinin gücünden faydalanarak Türk halkının aşılama süreciyle ilgili farklı duygularını araştırmak ve halkın mevcut aşılama girişimlerine yönelik tepkilerine genel bir bakış sunmaktır. Çalışmada, Twitter’da 16 Haziran 2021 ve 18 Eylül 2021 arasında paylaşılan Türkçe tweetler toplanmıştır. İnsanların her türden aşılarla ilgili duyguları, doğal dil işleme (NLP) aracı olan TextBlob kullanılarak değerlendirildi. Daha sonra, duygu sınıflandırması için yeni bir model önerildi. Önerilen model, Glove kelime gömme vektörüyle tek katmanlı Çift-yönlü Geçitli Tekrarlayan Birim (Bi-GRU) ve Evrişimli Sinir Ağı (CNN) modelini kullanan BiGRU-CNN modelidir. Önerilen yöntemin deneysel sonuçları en son modellerle kıyaslandığında umut vericidir. Bu çalışma, halkın COVID-19 aşıları hakkındaki görüşlerinin anlaşılmasını geliştirmekte ve koronavirüsü dünyadan yok etme hedefini desteklemektedir.
