    YÖK ID: 685768 Giriş ve Amaç: Sağlık okuryazarlığı; kişilerin sağlıkla ilgili bilgileri ve teknolojileri anlamalarına ve kullanmalarına izin veren, sağlıkla ilgili konularda sağlık çalışanları ile problemsiz iletişim kurabilmelerini sağlayan ve ayrıca edindikleri tüm bu bilgileri eleştirebilmeye de olanak tanıyan bilgi ve becerilere sahip olmak anlamına gelmektedir. COVID-19'un hızla pandemiye dönüşümü, insanları bu yeni durum hakkında bilgi edinmeye, bu bilgileri uygulamaya ve davranışlarını da bu bilgilere göre değiştirmeye zorlamıştır. Sağlık verilerini anlayamamak paniğe neden olabilir, gerçek bilginin ve doğru bilgi kaynaklarının etkisini azaltabilir. Bu nedenle yüksek seviyedeki sağlık okuryazarlığının, kriz durumları için gerekli olduğu düşünülmektedir. Bu çalışmada sağlık okuryazarlığının; pandemi ortamında COVİD-19 korku düzeyi üzerine etkisini araştırmayı amaçladık. Gereç ve Yöntem: Çalışma 2021 yılının Nisan ayında, hastanemize başvuran 268 yetişkinle yapıldı. Bireylere; Sosyodemografik Veri Toplama Aracıyla beraber TSOY-32 Ölçeği ve COVİD-19 Korkusu Ölçeği uygulandı. Bulgular: Analiz sonuçlarına göre TSOY-32 ölçek puanının 1 birim artmasının COVID-19 Korkusu Ölçek puanında 0,28 birim azalmaya sebep olduğu belirlendi. (P<0.05) TSOY-32 düzeyi yetersiz olan katılımcıların COVID-19 Korkusu Ölçek puanları, TSOY-32 düzeyi sorunlu–sınırlı, yeterli ve mükemmel düzeyde olan katılımcılara göre anlamlı daha yüksektir. (P=0.047, P=0.001, P<0.001). Katılımcılardan COVID-19 hastalığı geçirenlerin sağlık okuryazarlığı düzeyleri istatistiksel olarak anlamlı düşük bulunmuştur (P=0.034). Tartışma-Sonuç: Çalışmamızda TSOY-32 ölçek puanı, ülkemizde pandemi öncesi yapılmış çalışmalara nazaran daha yüksektir. Bu da pandeminin sağlık okuryazarlığı üzerine etkisi olarak düşünülebilir. Sağlık okuryazarlığının, insanların ruh sağlığını korumaya ve yaşam kalitesini artırmaya yardımcı olabileceği düşünülmektedir. Çalışmamızda COVİD-19 hastalığı geçiren kişilerin sağlık okuryazarlığı, geçirmeyen kişilere göre anlamlı olarak düşük çıkmıştır bu da yukarıdaki açıklamayı desteklemektedir. Bu nedenle insanların sağlık okuryazarlığını yükseltmek, korkularını azaltmak ve sağlıklarını arttırmak için stratejik bir yaklaşım olabilir. Ayrıca sağlık okuryazarlığının, mevcut pandemiyi ve gelecekteki potansiyel pandemileri azaltmak ve kontrol altına almak için sosyal sorumluluğun temel bir unsuru olarak görülmesi gereklidir. Introduction and Aim: Health literacy means having the knowledge and skills which allow people to understand and use the health-related information and technologies, enable them to communicate with health workers on health-related issues without any problems, also enable them to criticize all this information they have acquired. The rapid transformation of COVID-19 into a pandemic has forced people to learn about this new situation, apply this information, and change their behavior according to the information they receive. Failure to understand the health data can cause panic and reduce the impact of real information and accurate sources of information. Therefore, we think that a high level of health literacy is necessary for crisis situations. In this study we aimed to investigate the effects of health literacy on the level of fear of COVID-19 in the current pandemic environment. Materials and Methods: The study was conducted with 268 adults who had been admitted to our hospital in April 2021. The TSOY-32 Scale and the COVID-19 Fear Scale were applied to the individuals along with the socio-demographic questionnaire form. Results: According to the results of the analysis, it was determined that 1 unit increase in the TSOY-32 scale score, led to 0.28 unit decrease in the COVID-19 Fear scale score. (P<0.05) The COVID-19 Fear scale scores of the participants with insufficient TSOY-32 level were significantly higher than the participants whose TSOY-32 level was problematic – limited, adequate and excellent. (P=0.047, P=0.001, P<0.001). The health literacy levels of the participants who had COVID-19 disease were found to be statistically significantly lower (P=0.034). Discussion- Conclusion: In our study, the scale score of TSOY-32 was higher than the studies conducted before the pandemic started in our country. This can be considered as the impact of the pandemic on health literacy. It is thought that health literacy can help protect people's mental health and improve their quality of life. In our study, the health literacy of people who had COVID-19 disease was found to be significantly lower than those who did not, which supports the explanation above. Therefore, it can be a strategic approach to increase health literacy, reduce fear, and improve their health. In addition to that, health literacy needs to be seen as an essential element of social responsibility to reduce and contain the current pandemic and potential future pandemics.

    Authors: Caterina Gagliardi;

    La pandemia di Covid-19 ha generato significative implicazioni sociali, legali ed economiche. Nei Paesi oltre il Mediterraneo, segnati da un'instabilità finanziaria inarrestabile e da una continua crisi umanitaria, gli effetti dell'emergenza pandemica sembrano intaccare lo status già vulnerabile delle donne e le relazioni di genere, minacciando i fragili progressi compiuti in queste regioni. Infatti, le misure di isolamento sociale e distanziamento hanno avuto ripercussioni preoccupanti in termini di occupazione e accesso al lavoro, hanno esacerbato episodi di violenza domestica e reso più difficile l'accesso ai servizi essenziali, compresi quelli sanitari. Sebbene la pandemia di Covid-19 abbia ulteriormente evidenziato le vulnerabilità esistenti, si può notare che l'emergenza ha contribuito a mettere in mostra il ruolo principale e il potenziale delle donne. Le donne non solo rappresentano la maggior parte dei soccorritori in prima linea nelle emergenze nei settori sanitario, sociale, dell'insegnamento e dell'assistenza, ma sono state anche molto attive nella creazione di iniziative e imprese a sostegno della risposta alle crisi.

    Tema ovog rada je upravljanje rizikom odnosno krizama koji su obilježile 2020. godinu. Rad se sastoji od četiri dijela, a cilj je prikazati kako svijet, Europska unija, Republika Hrvatska i Grad Zagreb odgovaraju na predstojeće rizike te tijek događaja odnosno tijek njihovih radnji u suzbijanju rizika. U prvom dijelu polazi se od opće definicije rizika te objašnjavanje što rizik znači u suvremenom društvu. U drugom dijelu polazi se na konkretan rizik koji je pogodio cijeli svijet, a to je pandemija COVID – 19 te razmatra se i objašnjava pogled, radnja, politika i tijek događaja svijeta i Europske unije. Fokus ovog rada je u zadnjim dijelovima zbog specifičnosti Republike Hrvatske te Grada Zagreba i okolice jer osim COVID – 19, Grad Zagreb i okolica su pretrpjeli novi rizik, a to je prirodna katastrofa zvana potres te u ovom dijelu objašnjavaju se radnje u suzbijanju pandemije te usporedba akcija učinjene u svrhu suzbijanja pandemije COVID – 19 i u svrhu potresa.

    Fatality from coronavirus disease 19 (COVID-19) is a major problem globally and so identification of its underlying molecular mechanisms would be helpful. The combination of COVID-19 clinical data and genome sequence information is providing a potential route to such mechanisms. Here we took a candidate gene approach to UK Biobank data based on the suggested roles of endothelium and membrane proteins in COVID-19. We focussed on the PIEZO1 gene, which encodes a non-selective cation channel that mediates endothelial responses to blood flow. The analysis suggests 3 missense PIEZO1 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) associated with COVID-19 fatality independently of risk factors. All of them affect amino acids in the proximal N-terminus of PIEZO1, which is an unexplored region of the protein. By using molecular modelling we predict location of all 3 amino acids to a common outward-facing structure of unknown functional significance at the tips of the PIEZO1 propeller blades. Through genome sequence analysis we show that these SNPs vary in prevalence with ethnicity and that the most significant SNP (rs7184427) varies between 65 to 90% even though the reference amino acid is evolutionarily conserved. The data suggest PIEZO1 as a contributor to COVID-19 fatality and factor in ethnic susceptibility.

    Authors: Sibilio,Raffaele;

    Sebbene alle società occidentali sia associata l’idea di condizioni di vita più sicure, emerge un vero paradosso causa la maggiore sensibilità al rischio che si rileva. Il concetto stesso di progresso è posto in discussione: la scienza è ritenuta indispensabile nella scoperta dei nuovi fattori di rischio ma, contemporaneamente, dimostra dei limiti al contenimento di altri. Anche la tecnologia, quale variabile prioritaria per la mitigazione del rischio, è associata costantemente a significati ambivalenti, in termini sia di benefici che di pericoli. Inoltre, la valutazione del rischio – il cui impiego si lega sistematicamente alla costruzione di modelli previsionali per la “cura di sé” – rievoca una serie di fattori ambientali, economici e familiari. In questo contesto, l’interesse scientifico si scontra con una realtà in cui l’equilibrio tra il “fare troppo” – con il rischio di derive di sicurezza sanitaria – e il “non fare nulla” – che richiede un lavoro di spiegazione e di rassicurazione – risulta mutevole e sensibile alle vicende del momento. La pandemia da Covid 19 ha dimostrato le notevoli difficoltà, da parte dei Governi, di rispondere prontamente all’emergenza sanitaria e, al contempo, di placare il senso di incertezza insidiatosi nella mente degli individui.

    Authors: Caterina Gagliardi;

    La pandemia di Covid-19 ha generato significative implicazioni sociali, legali ed economiche. Nei Paesi oltre il Mediterraneo, segnati da un'instabilità finanziaria inarrestabile e da una continua crisi umanitaria, gli effetti dell'emergenza pandemica sembrano intaccare lo status già vulnerabile delle donne e le relazioni di genere, minacciando i fragili progressi compiuti in queste regioni. Infatti, le misure di isolamento sociale e distanziamento hanno avuto ripercussioni preoccupanti in termini di occupazione e accesso al lavoro, hanno esacerbato episodi di violenza domestica e reso più difficile l'accesso ai servizi essenziali, compresi quelli sanitari. Sebbene la pandemia di Covid-19 abbia ulteriormente evidenziato le vulnerabilità esistenti, si può notare che l'emergenza ha contribuito a mettere in mostra il ruolo principale e il potenziale delle donne. Le donne non solo rappresentano la maggior parte dei soccorritori in prima linea nelle emergenze nei settori sanitario, sociale, dell'insegnamento e dell'assistenza, ma sono state anche molto attive nella creazione di iniziative e imprese a sostegno della risposta alle crisi.

    Tema ovog rada je upravljanje rizikom odnosno krizama koji su obilježile 2020. godinu. Rad se sastoji od četiri dijela, a cilj je prikazati kako svijet, Europska unija, Republika Hrvatska i Grad Zagreb odgovaraju na predstojeće rizike te tijek događaja odnosno tijek njihovih radnji u suzbijanju rizika. U prvom dijelu polazi se od opće definicije rizika te objašnjavanje što rizik znači u suvremenom društvu. U drugom dijelu polazi se na konkretan rizik koji je pogodio cijeli svijet, a to je pandemija COVID – 19 te razmatra se i objašnjava pogled, radnja, politika i tijek događaja svijeta i Europske unije. Fokus ovog rada je u zadnjim dijelovima zbog specifičnosti Republike Hrvatske te Grada Zagreba i okolice jer osim COVID – 19, Grad Zagreb i okolica su pretrpjeli novi rizik, a to je prirodna katastrofa zvana potres te u ovom dijelu objašnjavaju se radnje u suzbijanju pandemije te usporedba akcija učinjene u svrhu suzbijanja pandemije COVID – 19 i u svrhu potresa.

    Fatality from coronavirus disease 19 (COVID-19) is a major problem globally and so identification of its underlying molecular mechanisms would be helpful. The combination of COVID-19 clinical data and genome sequence information is providing a potential route to such mechanisms. Here we took a candidate gene approach to UK Biobank data based on the suggested roles of endothelium and membrane proteins in COVID-19. We focussed on the PIEZO1 gene, which encodes a non-selective cation channel that mediates endothelial responses to blood flow. The analysis suggests 3 missense PIEZO1 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) associated with COVID-19 fatality independently of risk factors. All of them affect amino acids in the proximal N-terminus of PIEZO1, which is an unexplored region of the protein. By using molecular modelling we predict location of all 3 amino acids to a common outward-facing structure of unknown functional significance at the tips of the PIEZO1 propeller blades. Through genome sequence analysis we show that these SNPs vary in prevalence with ethnicity and that the most significant SNP (rs7184427) varies between 65 to 90% even though the reference amino acid is evolutionarily conserved. The data suggest PIEZO1 as a contributor to COVID-19 fatality and factor in ethnic susceptibility.

    Authors: Sibilio,Raffaele;

    Sebbene alle società occidentali sia associata l’idea di condizioni di vita più sicure, emerge un vero paradosso causa la maggiore sensibilità al rischio che si rileva. Il concetto stesso di progresso è posto in discussione: la scienza è ritenuta indispensabile nella scoperta dei nuovi fattori di rischio ma, contemporaneamente, dimostra dei limiti al contenimento di altri. Anche la tecnologia, quale variabile prioritaria per la mitigazione del rischio, è associata costantemente a significati ambivalenti, in termini sia di benefici che di pericoli. Inoltre, la valutazione del rischio – il cui impiego si lega sistematicamente alla costruzione di modelli previsionali per la “cura di sé” – rievoca una serie di fattori ambientali, economici e familiari. In questo contesto, l’interesse scientifico si scontra con una realtà in cui l’equilibrio tra il “fare troppo” – con il rischio di derive di sicurezza sanitaria – e il “non fare nulla” – che richiede un lavoro di spiegazione e di rassicurazione – risulta mutevole e sensibile alle vicende del momento. La pandemia da Covid 19 ha dimostrato le notevoli difficoltà, da parte dei Governi, di rispondere prontamente all’emergenza sanitaria e, al contempo, di placare il senso di incertezza insidiatosi nella mente degli individui.
