    Authors: Pinho, Joana Patrícia Martins;

    O recurso cada vez mais recorrente e habitual às TIC ‘s possibilitou a realização da prestação laboral subordinada fora do tradicional centro empresarial, permitindo o surgimento da modalidade de contrato de trabalho designada por teletrabalho. Com a pandemia, causada pela COVID-19, cerca de um milhão de portugueses passou a laborar em teletrabalho como forma de contenção do vírus. A adoção massiva desta figura colocou ao ordenamento jurídico laboral questões e desafios que até então não tinham sido considerados e evidenciou a necessidade de repensar as respostas que o regime jurídico previa. O presente estudo versa sobre os desafios que a saúde e segurança no trabalho colocou e continua a colocar no âmbito do teletrabalho e em que medida o ordenamento jurídico laboral respondeu e colmatou os desafios e questões que o regime jurídico dos acidentes de trabalho enfrenta em face da existência de um acidente de trabalho em teletrabalho. The increasingly recurrent and habitual use of ICT's has made it possible to perform subordinated work outside the traditional business center, enabling the emergence of the type of employment contract called telework. With the pandemic, caused by COVID-19, about one million Portuguese began to work remotely to contain the virus. The massive adoption of this figure put to the labor legal system issues and challenges that until then had not been considered and highlighted the need to rethink the answers that the legal regime provided. This study focuses on the challenges that health and safety at work posed and continues to pose in the context of telework and to what extent the response of the labor legal system responded and fulfilled the challenges and questions that the legal regime of accidents at work faces in the face of the existence of an accident at work in telework.

    As (auto)biografias que integram esta obra apresentam informações de como o professor ou professora buscou informações para atender ao novo cenário, o que pode envolver aprendizagem aberta; assim como, a descrição de ações que foram desenvolvidas durante as aulas remotas, sendo que, no contexto de cada pessoa, provavelmente, foram inovações educacionais. Por fim, existem comentários sobre o que se aprendeu e experenciou durante a docência durante a pandemia de Covid-19 e que será, em parte, mantido com o retorno do ensino presencial. A obra conta, além do prefácio e de uma introdução, com 64 capítulos redigidos por 65 pessoas de todas as regiões do país. Em grande medida o objetivo de termos textos em primeira pessoa que apresentam fatos, vivências e reflexões foi alcançado, assim, temos um conjunto representativo e que dá voz aos profissionais da Educação. Apesar das muitas dificuldades enfrentadas, fica evidente o esforço e dedicação dos docentes aos seus alunos, aspecto que tornar-se ainda mais necessário atualmente devido aos desafios do retorno ao ensino presencial e de minimizar os problemas decorrentes da pandemia de Covid-19.

    Authors: Costa, Nuno Filipe Rocha;

    A utilização do comércio eletrónico, mais conhecido por E-Commerce, aumentou nos últimos anos, eventualmente devido à pandemia covid-19 bem como a outros fatores. Este aumento levou à criação de novas empresas, mas também estimulou diversas atividades de fraude online. As empresas cada vez mais têm dificuldades para combater e impedir tentativas de fraudes devido à sua constante mudança. Esta dissertação visa apresentar todo o processo de estudo, experimentação, desenvolvimento e avaliação de uma solução de Machine Learning para a deteção de fraudes, desde a recolha dos dados ao seu processamento e apresentação de resultados. Durante o desenvolvimento foram aplicados conhecimentos obtidos na fase de estudo e técnicas de Machine Learning. O objetivo é comparar os diferentes algoritmos [Decision Tree (DT), Isolation Forest (IF) e K-nearest neighbors (KNN)] e verificar quais oferecem melhor resultado a cada conjunto de dados[Clientes e Transferências], na deteção de fraude ou outliers. Um objetivo secundário, tirando partido do uso de Machine Learning, será efetuar previsões nomeadamente o nível de risco de um novo cliente por Merchant. Nesta tese pode ser encontrado um estudo e comparação da aplicação de dois modelos, um para a previsão de fraude de um cliente e outro para a deteção de outlier nas transferências, assim como um estudo sobre as melhores configurações e parâmetros para cada modelo. The use of electronic commerce, commonly known as E-commerce, has increased in recent years, possibly due to the Covid-19 pandemic as well as other factors. This growth has led to the creation of new companies but has also stimulated various online fraud activities. Companies are increasingly facing challenges in combating and preventing fraud attempts due to their constantly evolving nature. This dissertation aims to present the entire process of studying, experimenting, developing and evaluating a Machine Learning solution for fraud detection, from data collection to processing and presentation of results. During the development, knowledge gained in the study phase and Machine Learning techniques were applied. The goal is to compare different algorithms [Decision Tree (DT), Isolation Forest (IF), and K-nearest neighbors (KNN)] and determine which ones offer the best results for each data set [Customers and Transfers] in fraud or outlier detection. A secondary objective, taking advantage of the use of Machine Learning, is to make predictions, particularly the risk level of a new customer by Merchant. This thesis includes a study and comparison of the application of two models, one for predicting customer fraud and another for outlier detection in transfers, as well as a study on the best configurations and parameters for each model.

    Authors: Morgado, Patrícia Daniela Macedo;

    Introdução: O uso problemático generalizado da internet pode gerar repercussões negativas na vida do indivíduo, tendo influência na forma como enfrenta as adversidades. Uma regulação emocional disfuncional acarreta uma maior probabilidade de se envolver em comportamentos aditivos, de modo a abstrair-se das emoções negativas. Igualmente, uma baixa autoestima tem-se mostrado suscetível a um uso problemático da internet, percecionando as interações virtuais como mais seguras e compensatórias. Método: Explorar o papel preditivo da regulação emocional e da autoestima no uso problemático generalizado da internet, durante a pandemia por COVID-19, numa amostra de 138 adultos portugueses. Foi utilizado um questionário sociodemográfico, a Escala de Uso Generalizado Problemático da Internet 2, a Escala de Dificuldades na Regulação Emocional e a Escala de Autoestima de Rosenberg. Resultados e conclusões: Resultaram diferenças estatisticamente significativas na relação entre a regulação emocional, autoestima e o uso problemático generalizado da internet. Ou seja, uma baixa regulação emocional e baixa autoestima atuam como preditores para o uso problemático generalizado da internet. Adicionalmente, ser mais jovem, ser do sexo masculino e uma idade de início de uso da internet mais precoce resultaram significativas na sua relação com o uso problemático generalizado da internet. Introduction: The generalized problematic internet use can generate negative repercussions on the individual's life, having an influence on how he faces adversity. Dysfunctional emotional regulation is more likely to engage in addictive behaviors in order to abstract from negative emotions. Similarly, low self-esteem has been shown to be susceptible to problematic internet use, perceiting virtual interactions as safer and more compensatory. Method: Explore the predictive role of emotional regulation and self-esteem in the generalized problematic internet use, during the COVID-19 pandemic in a sample of 138 Portuguese adults. A sociodemographic questionnaire, the Generalized Problematic Internet Use Scale 2, the Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale and the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale were used. Results and conclusions: Statistically significant differences in the relationship between emotional regulation, self-esteem and generalized problematic internet use was showed. That is, a low emotional regulation and low self-esteem proved to be predictors of generalized problematic internet use. Additionally, being younger, being male and an earlier age of initial use of the internet resulted in significant relationship with generalized problematic internet use.

    Authors: Sousa, Sara Lima de;

    The personal care industry has witnessed significant growth, with the COVID-19 pandemic further accelerating the shift towards online channels. Overall, consumers have become increasingly conscious of environmental issues, leading to higher demands for sustainable practices, circular economy and waste reduction. However, there’s a significant portion of unmanageable waste from the industry that is hard to control, attributed to unsold, damaged, or near-expiry products that fail to reach the end consumer and end up in landfill. Driven by the market growth and sustainability awareness among Portuguese consumers, this study examines the feasibility of establishing a new platform that enables consumers to purchase near-expired or damaged personal care products at discounted prices. The research investigates the potential consumer profile using the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) framework, as well as identifies the drivers and barriers that influence the purchase intention of these products among Portuguese consumers, drawing on relevant literature. A mixed methods approach was used, resulting in 10 in-depth interviews from qualitative data, and an online questionnaire with 143 valid answers from quantitative data. The findings indicate that the purchase intention of these personal care products could be acceptable in the Portuguese market. Moreover, no significant barriers were identified as relevant, with consumers perceiving value for money and trying new products as key drivers of their purchase intention. Finally, two distinct consumer profiles emerged, reflecting different characteristics: one group focused on seeking bargains and saving money, while the other prioritized sustainability and preferred environmentally-friendly options. A indústria dos cuidados pessoais tem tido um crescimento significativo, com a pandemia COVID-19 a acelerar a transição para os canais online. No geral, os consumidores estão cada vez mais conscientes sobre questões ambientais, o que os leva a exigir práticas mais sustentáveis, economia circular e redução de resíduos. No entanto, uma parte deste desperdício está relacionado com má gestão de resíduos em produtos não vendidos, danificados, perto do fim de validade ou fora de stock, que acabam por nunca chegar ao consumidor final. Motivado pelo crescimento do mercado e consciência ambiental portuguesa, este estudo analisa a viabilidade da criação de uma plataforma que permita aos consumidores adquirir produtos de cuidados pessoais a preço reduzido que estejam perto do fim de validade ou danificados. A pesquisa investiga o potencial perfil do consumidor, assim como os potenciais impulsionadores e barreiras que influenciam a intenção de compra dos consumidores portugueses, de acordo com a revisão de literatura. A análise foi feita através de métodos mistos, onde foram realizadas 10 entrevistas qualitativas individuais e um questionário quantitativo online com 143 respostas válidas. Os resultados indicam que a intenção de compra tem um nível médio de aceitação no mercado português, não sendo identificadas barreiras significativas. Como principais impulsionadores, o custo benefício e a experimentação de novos produtos influenciam positivamente a intenção de compra. Por último, dois perfis de consumidores foram identificados: um grupo que procura um bom negócio para poupar dinheiro, e o outro que prioriza a sustentabilidade e compras ecológicas.

    Authors: Villas Bôas Filho, Orlando; Silva, Giovanna Nony Failache da;

    Este ensaio propõe analisar de que maneira a pandemia da Covid-19 contribuiu para o incremento do número de pessoas em situação de vulnerabilidade e, consequentemente, para o aumento das desigualdades sociais e econômicas que, historicamente, ocorrem no Brasil. Para tal, parte de uma reconstrução analítica dos conceitos de necropolítica e de legitimidade democrática, propostos por Achille Mbembe e Pierre Rosanvallon, respectivamente. Assim, busca mostrar, preliminarmente, como as políticas públicas e a gestão governamental durante a crise contribuíram para o agravamento do cenário caótico pós-pandêmico, com a decorrente ratificação e, inclusive, recrudescimento da invisibilidade dos grupos vulneráveis, mediante a implementação de políticas cada vez mais indiferentes e, em alguns casos, refratárias aos anseios e necessidades desses grupos, o que será contemplado principalmente a partir da ótica da necropolítica de Achille Mbembe. Em seguida, no bojo dessa análise, serão focadas as formas de legitimidade (imparcialidade, proximidade e reflexividade) que, segundo Pierre Rosanvallon, caracterizam a experiência democrática contemporânea. Mediante o manejo dessconcepção sofisticada da experiência democrática, que a considera irredutível à sua dimensão eleitoral (democracia de delegação), procurar-se-á explicitar em que medida o agravamento da situação de vulnerabilidade de diversos grupos sociais no contexto da pandemia da Covid-19 pode ser considerado expressão de um incremento do déficit democrático no Brasil.

    Authors: Coelho, Nuno Alexandre Lage;

    Faced with the reality experienced in recent years of the covid-19 pandemic, great focus was given to the category of health care workers, in particular to the implications with their health and safety. This dissertation addresses topics such as the context experienced by health care workers, the risk subsidy incurred paid to them, protective equipment, the classification of Covid-19 as a biological risk and even the problem of classifying professional contingencies arising from covid-19 such as an accident at work or an occupational disease. We will also analyse the admissibility of temperature control for workers, their mandatory vaccination and finally the impact of covid-19 on their mental health, as well as the guidelines of the European Commission for the time period 2021-2027. Perante a realidade vivida nos últimos anos de pandemia de covid-19, foi dado grande enfoque à classe dos profissionais de saúde, em particular às implicações na saúde e segurança destes. A presente dissertação aborda temas como o contexto vivido pelos profissionais de saúde, o subsídio de risco auferido por estes, os equipamentos de proteção, a classificação da Covid-19 como risco biológico e até a problemática de classificação das contingências profissionais decorrentes da covid-19 como acidente de trabalho ou doença profissional. Analisaremos ainda a admissibilidade do controlo de temperatura dos trabalhadores, a sua vacinação obrigatória, e por último o impacto da covid-19 na sua saúde mental, bem como as orientações da Comissão Europeia para o período de tempo 2021-2027.

    Authors: Guimarães, Bernardo Pires de Carvalho;

    O objetivo desta dissertação foi o de proceder a uma análise exploratória e comparada do impacto da pandemia Covid-19 e da inflação sobre empresas de diversos setores de atividade da economia portuguesa. O método utilizado foi o estudo de caso exploratório. Foram analisadas e comparadas quatro empresas na Área Metropolitana do Porto, três micro (construção, restauração e têxtil) e uma média (indústria de conservas). Os resultados mostram uma alteração nas margens das empresas e uma rápida introdução das normas sanitárias e reorganização do trabalho nas empresas da construção, do têxtil e das conservas. O restaurante teve de encerrar temporariamente. No que refere aos apoios, o Estado providenciou-os. As microempresas consideram que foram suficientes. A empresa média queixa-se dos montantes e dos atrasos. A inflação surgiu a contraciclo da recuperação da pandemia, aumentou os custos das empresas, obrigou-as a repensar os preços de venda e as margens e alterou as respetivas expectativas. Duas estratégias de resposta são visíveis por parte das empresas. Uma é não os alterar, reduzindo as margens unitárias. A outra é aumentar os preços de venda, tentando manter as margens unitárias. The objective of this dissertation was to carry out an exploratory and comparative analysis of the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and inflation on companies in various sectors of activity of the Portuguese economy. The method used was the exploratory case study. Four compamies located in Porto Metropolitan Area were analyzed and compared, three micro (construction, catering and textile) and one medium (canning industry). Results show a change in the margins of companies and a rapid introduction of health norms and reorganization of work in construction, textile and canning companies. The catering company had to shut down temporarily. As far as the support is concerned, the State has provided it. Micro enterprises believe that they have been sufficient. The medium enterprise complains about the amounts and delays. Inflation came about in the counter-cycle of the pandemic recovery, increased companies' costs, forced them to rethink sales prices and margins, and altered their expectations. Two response strategies are visible on the part of companies. One is not to change them, reducing unitary margins. The other is to raise selling prices, keeping unitary margins.

    Authors: Pinho, Joana Patrícia Martins;

    O recurso cada vez mais recorrente e habitual às TIC ‘s possibilitou a realização da prestação laboral subordinada fora do tradicional centro empresarial, permitindo o surgimento da modalidade de contrato de trabalho designada por teletrabalho. Com a pandemia, causada pela COVID-19, cerca de um milhão de portugueses passou a laborar em teletrabalho como forma de contenção do vírus. A adoção massiva desta figura colocou ao ordenamento jurídico laboral questões e desafios que até então não tinham sido considerados e evidenciou a necessidade de repensar as respostas que o regime jurídico previa. O presente estudo versa sobre os desafios que a saúde e segurança no trabalho colocou e continua a colocar no âmbito do teletrabalho e em que medida o ordenamento jurídico laboral respondeu e colmatou os desafios e questões que o regime jurídico dos acidentes de trabalho enfrenta em face da existência de um acidente de trabalho em teletrabalho. The increasingly recurrent and habitual use of ICT's has made it possible to perform subordinated work outside the traditional business center, enabling the emergence of the type of employment contract called telework. With the pandemic, caused by COVID-19, about one million Portuguese began to work remotely to contain the virus. The massive adoption of this figure put to the labor legal system issues and challenges that until then had not been considered and highlighted the need to rethink the answers that the legal regime provided. This study focuses on the challenges that health and safety at work posed and continues to pose in the context of telework and to what extent the response of the labor legal system responded and fulfilled the challenges and questions that the legal regime of accidents at work faces in the face of the existence of an accident at work in telework.

    As (auto)biografias que integram esta obra apresentam informações de como o professor ou professora buscou informações para atender ao novo cenário, o que pode envolver aprendizagem aberta; assim como, a descrição de ações que foram desenvolvidas durante as aulas remotas, sendo que, no contexto de cada pessoa, provavelmente, foram inovações educacionais. Por fim, existem comentários sobre o que se aprendeu e experenciou durante a docência durante a pandemia de Covid-19 e que será, em parte, mantido com o retorno do ensino presencial. A obra conta, além do prefácio e de uma introdução, com 64 capítulos redigidos por 65 pessoas de todas as regiões do país. Em grande medida o objetivo de termos textos em primeira pessoa que apresentam fatos, vivências e reflexões foi alcançado, assim, temos um conjunto representativo e que dá voz aos profissionais da Educação. Apesar das muitas dificuldades enfrentadas, fica evidente o esforço e dedicação dos docentes aos seus alunos, aspecto que tornar-se ainda mais necessário atualmente devido aos desafios do retorno ao ensino presencial e de minimizar os problemas decorrentes da pandemia de Covid-19.

    Authors: Morgado, Patrícia Daniela Macedo;

    Introdução: O uso problemático generalizado da internet pode gerar repercussões negativas na vida do indivíduo, tendo influência na forma como enfrenta as adversidades. Uma regulação emocional disfuncional acarreta uma maior probabilidade de se envolver em comportamentos aditivos, de modo a abstrair-se das emoções negativas. Igualmente, uma baixa autoestima tem-se mostrado suscetível a um uso problemático da internet, percecionando as interações virtuais como mais seguras e compensatórias. Método: Explorar o papel preditivo da regulação emocional e da autoestima no uso problemático generalizado da internet, durante a pandemia por COVID-19, numa amostra de 138 adultos portugueses. Foi utilizado um questionário sociodemográfico, a Escala de Uso Generalizado Problemático da Internet 2, a Escala de Dificuldades na Regulação Emocional e a Escala de Autoestima de Rosenberg. Resultados e conclusões: Resultaram diferenças estatisticamente significativas na relação entre a regulação emocional, autoestima e o uso problemático generalizado da internet. Ou seja, uma baixa regulação emocional e baixa autoestima atuam como preditores para o uso problemático generalizado da internet. Adicionalmente, ser mais jovem, ser do sexo masculino e uma idade de início de uso da internet mais precoce resultaram significativas na sua relação com o uso problemático generalizado da internet. Introduction: The generalized problematic internet use can generate negative repercussions on the individual's life, having an influence on how he faces adversity. Dysfunctional emotional regulation is more likely to engage in addictive behaviors in order to abstract from negative emotions. Similarly, low self-esteem has been shown to be susceptible to problematic internet use, perceiting virtual interactions as safer and more compensatory. Method: Explore the predictive role of emotional regulation and self-esteem in the generalized problematic internet use, during the COVID-19 pandemic in a sample of 138 Portuguese adults. A sociodemographic questionnaire, the Generalized Problematic Internet Use Scale 2, the Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale and the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale were used. Results and conclusions: Statistically significant differences in the relationship between emotional regulation, self-esteem and generalized problematic internet use was showed. That is, a low emotional regulation and low self-esteem proved to be predictors of generalized problematic internet use. Additionally, being younger, being male and an earlier age of initial use of the internet resulted in significant relationship with generalized problematic internet use.
