description Publicationkeyboard_double_arrow_right Article 2021 SpainPublisher:MDPI AG Jordi Arboix-Alió; Guillem Trabal; Bernat Buscà; Javier Peña; Adrià Arboix; Raúl Hileno; The primary purpose of the present study was to compare the home advantage (HA) and the home team performance in the most relevant European rink hockey leagues (Spanish, Portuguese and Italian), considering the presence or absence of spectators in the competition venues due to the effect of COVID-19 restrictions. The sample was composed of 1665 rink hockey matches (654 from the Spanish league, 497 from the Portuguese league, and 514 from the Italian league) played between the 2018–2019 and 2020–2021 seasons. The HA and match variables comparisons were established using several negative binomial regression models. Results showed that the effect of HA did not disappear despite playing without spectators but decreased from 63.99% to 57.41% (p = 0.002). Moreover, the comparison of the match variables showed that playing with spectators benefited local teams’ performance, especially in the Portuguese and Italian leagues. Playing with spectators favoured local team performance in rink hockey matches, which is more evident in some analysed leagues. However, as HA does not disappear entirely without spectators, it is necessary to study other relevant performance factors that are not directly or indirectly attributable to crowd behaviour in rink hockey performance analyses. The study was supported and funded by the Faculty of Psychology, Education Sciences and Sport Blanquerna, Ramon Llull University, Barcelona, Spain, grant number PIF20-21-GRIES

This study analyzed the impact of the COVID-19 lockdown on this important issue, their related health and social services and working conditions from the perspectives of professionals in different sectors. Forty-three semi-structured interviews were carried out with 47 professionals (44 women and 3 men) from 40 different entities (September 2020-April 2021). This content analysis suggests that the pandemic and its associated prevention measures have had a negative impact on women exposed to IPV and their children, which affected their social wellbeing. Professionals described burnout, difficult and slow administrative processes, and problems with coordination and access to information. These negative impacts were mitigated, in part, by the work of professionals, but this suggests that a series of key strategies are needed to improve the response capacity of the service sector to IPV in situations of crisis. These improvements are related to the availability of human and material resources; an efficient coordination network between the professionals from different sectors; existence of informal support networks in the community; protocols/procedures and prior training for better implementation; and greater flexibility and accessibility of basic services that benefit women who experience IPV. This study was financed through the project “Gender violence and social and health responses during the COVID-19 crisis” by the Fondo Supera Covid-19 CRUE-Santander for the period 2020-2021 (Ref. FSCovid19-03). It was also co-supported by the CIBER of Epidemiology and Public Health of Spain for its aid to the Gender-based Violence and Youth Research Program. Sí

The situation in which we find ourselves immersed in the global pandemic of COVID-19 has resulted in a large number of deaths, and although death continues to be taboo in western society in the 21st century, it is necessary and urgent that educational centres resume the challenge of approaching death pedagogically. In this study, a meta-analysis of the current state of death pedagogy is carried out, providing practical and functional tools and strategies for schools and high schools. To find all the strategies mentioned, a continuous and systematic bibliographic search of the last 7 years was carried out. Guidelines are offered to carry out useful and effective empathic accompaniment, as well as a follow-up of the understanding of death that children and adolescents have according to their ages. In addition, psycho-pedagogical orientations are also offered for more serious situations, as well as actions to be taken into account depending on the casuistry that we may find in educational centres. In conclusion, education professionals are encouraged to take charge of the great challenge of carrying out a pedagogy of death in a formal education classroom.

The tourism sector has become a very important worldwide industry because it generates many job positions, impact on the economy as well as creating benefits for growth and increase of demands. It is a destination that advances towards the future without losing its essence, its history, traditions and customs. Until recently only a few knew this destination, today Bolivia is one of the emerging destinations in Latin America. According to the Ministry of Cultures, in 2017 the World Travel Awards awarded Bolivia as the "Best Cultural Destination in South America" and in 2018, as "Best Green Destination in South America". In fact, the city where our business will be, La Paz was awarded as the best emerging tourist destination in 2019 by World Travel Awards. In addition to being nominated for four more categories: "Best Destination City of South America 2019", "Best Destination Cultural City of South America 2019", "Best Leading Destination in Events and Festivals of South America 2019", "Best Romantic Destination of South America 2019. Luckily the country is not threatened by massive tourism even though there are many people interested on going and discovering new places, cultures, gastronomy, among others. Regarding the current situation in Bolivia and according to statistics, 56% of entrepreneurs in Bolivia correspond to an age range between 18 to 33 years, that is, the youngest are committed to innovation and creativity that require technical advice when starting a business that has a social and environmental impact. According to the country's most renowned economist Luis Arce Catacora, what Bolivia needs to recover from the current political situation and the covid 19 is "boost to micro and small businesses, boost to the activity of internal tourism activity in coordination with the municipalities and governorates, plus community tourism, ecological tourism, implementation of a productive community social economic model and support for entrepreneurs to create quality jobs with a positive impact on Bolivian society and the environment”. Taking into account the recommendations of the economist. Our purpose is the creation of an Eco hotel applying sustainable practices in relation to its construction, work with the local community, preservation of the environment and culture, creation of jobs, training for our workers (empowering people) and helping promote community tourism by making national tourists come to visit our accommodation and destination.

Abstract: Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic is changing approaches to diagnosis, treatment, and care provision in multiple sclerosis (MS). During both the initial and peak phases of the epidemic, the administration of disease-modifying drugs, typically immunosuppressants administered in pulses, was suspended due to the uncertainty about their impact on SARS-CoV-2 infection, mainly in contagious asymptomatic/presymptomatic patients. The purpose of this study is to present a safety algorithm enabling patients to resume pulse immunosuppressive therapy (PIT) during the easing of lockdown measures. Methods: We developed a safety algorithm based on our clinical experience with MS and the available published evidence; the algorithm assists in the detection of contagious asymptomatic/presymptomatic cases and of patients with mild symptoms of SARS-CoV-2 infection with a view to withdrawing PIT in these patients and preventing new infections at day hospitals. Results: We developed a clinical/microbiological screening algorithm consisting of a symptom checklist, applied during a teleconsultation 48 hours before the scheduled session of PIT, and PCR testing for SARS-CoV-2 in nasopharyngeal exudate 24 hours before the procedure. Conclusion: The application of our safety algorithm presents a favourable risk-benefit ratio despite the fact that the actual proportion of asymptomatic and presymptomatic individuals is unknown. Systematic PCR testing, which provides the highest sensitivity for detecting presymptomatic cases, combined with early detection of symptoms of SARS-CoV-2 infection may reduce infections and improve detection of high-risk patients before they receive PIT.

Death is one of the most prevailing social and pedagogical taboos in our western society [1-6]. Taking this context into account, we are committed to the application of a preventive pedagogy on death -understood as the teaching of death prior to the tragic event- as a transversal and radical axis in schools in order to promote its normalisation [7-10], to promote the comprehensive education of students and avoid possible pathological grief [11-14].

description Publicationkeyboard_double_arrow_right Article 2021 SpainPublisher:MDPI AG Jordi Arboix-Alió; Guillem Trabal; Bernat Buscà; Javier Peña; Adrià Arboix; Raúl Hileno; The primary purpose of the present study was to compare the home advantage (HA) and the home team performance in the most relevant European rink hockey leagues (Spanish, Portuguese and Italian), considering the presence or absence of spectators in the competition venues due to the effect of COVID-19 restrictions.

Abstract: Introduction: Contradictory data have been reported on the incidence of stroke in patients with COVID-19 and the risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection among patients with history of stroke. Methods: This study systematically reviews case series reporting stroke as a complication of COVID-19, and analyses the prognosis of patients with COVID-19 and history of stroke. The pathophysiological mechanisms of stroke in patients with COVID-19 are also reviewed. Conclusions: History of stroke increases the risk of death due to COVID-19 by 3 times. Stroke currently seems not to be one of the main complications of COVID-19.
