    Perante um mercado de trabalho cada vez mais volátil, as empresas socorrem-se das tecnologias de informação (TI) para conseguirem dar continuidade aos processos e obterem sucesso nos seus negócios. Atualmente, a transformação digital ajuda as empresas a tornarem-se mais competitivas no mercado onde atuam, agilizando os seus processos e tornando-os mais eficientes. O processo de recrutamento e seleção é uma das práticas do Recrutamento que sofreu alterações devido à pandemia da Covid-19, sendo que as empresas foram obrigadas a adaptar ou transferir os seus processos totalmente para a via digital, para garantir a sua continuidade, dado o prolongado estado de emergência. O objetivo deste estudo é perceber se as empresas portuguesas conseguiram dar continuidade aos seus processos de recrutamento e seleção, num período de confinamento total. Para isto, realizaram-se 30 entrevistas, todas por videoconferência, a profissionais da área dos Recursos Humanos, para compreender como ocorreu a transição e adaptação das empresas participantes à via digital, durante este período. Chegou-se à conclusão que, para permitir a continuidade de todos os processos, as empresas recorreram totalmente às TI; muitas das empresas já tinham as ferramentas necessárias, mas ainda não realizavam os processos de recrutamento totalmente pela via digital; e os setores primário e secundário foram os mais resistentes à mudança e os que estavam menos preparados para realizar um processo de recrutamento e seleção por via digital. Além disto, o confinamento veio mostrar ainda a existência de uma nova forma de trabalho, que as empresas desconheciam e que se irá manter, num período pós pandémico. Faced with an increasingly volatile labour market, companies are using information technology (IT) in their processes to achieve business success. Nowadays, digital transformation helps companies become more competitive, streamlining their processes, and making them more efficient. The recruitment and selection process is one of the Recruitment practices that experienced changes due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and companies were forced to adapt or transfer their processes entirely to digital in order to guarantee their continuity. The aim of this study is to understand if Portuguese companies were able to give continuity to their recruitment and selection process in a period of total confinement. For this, 30 interviews were carried out, all by videoconference, to professionals in the Human Resources area, with the purpose of understanding how was the transition and adaptation of the participating companies to digital, during this period. It was concluded that, in order to allow the continuity of all processes, the companies were fully assisted by information technologies; many of the companies already had the necessary tools, but they still did not carry out the recruitment processes completely online and the primary and secondary sectors were the most resistant to change and the least prepared to carry out recruitment and selection process through digital means. Besides this, the confinement period also showed the existence of a new way of working, which companies were not aware of and which will continue in a post-pandemic period.

    Authors: Gomes, Joana Filipa Martins;

    As crescentes transformações e reestruturações de que foram alvo os museus e os serviços educativos desde a segunda metade do século XX, relativamente ao papel social, educativo e representativo que atualmente possuem, alteraram a perceção destas instituições junto da sociedade. Articulam o trabalho que desenvolvem com a comunidade e com o território através de estratégias de mediação cultural que têm como objetivo a criação de espaços de diálogo que sejam inclusivos, participativos, dinâmicos e reflexivos. Intitulada O serviço educativo do Museu Calouste Gulbenkian: Estratégias de Mediação Cultural, esta dissertação visa analisar o serviço educativo do Museu Calouste Gulbenkian enquanto caso de estudo e investigar as estratégias de mediação cultural desenvolvidas pelo mesmo na criação de espaços de diálogo. A partir do quadro conceptual e da pesquisa empírica, que consistiu na observação de oito atividades integradas no programa Gulbenkian Descobrir e da realização de sete entrevistas às mediadoras culturais do serviço educativo em questão, concluímos que o serviço educativo do Museu Calouste Gulbenkian estabelece a mediação cultural como linha de ação principal. Através da análise deste caso de estudo, compreendemos que os espaços de diálogo são criados através de estratégias de mediação cultural que resultam numa experiência museológica mais significativa para o público que, por sua vez, potencia a construção de conhecimento e o processo de aprendizagem do mesmo. Foram, de igual modo, analisadas as dificuldades sentidas por consequência da pandemia Covid-19, bem como o que se perceciona como o futuro e o ideal da mediação cultural. The growing transformations and restructuring that museums and educational services were subjected to since the second half of the 20th century, concerning the social, educational and representative role they currently undergo, have changed society’s perception of these institutions. They articulate their work with the community and the territory through cultural mediation strategies whose main goal is to create spaces for inclusive, participatory, dynamic and reflective dialogue. Titled The educational service of the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum: Cultural Mediation Strategies, this dissertation aims to analyze the educational service of the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum as a case study and investigate the cultural mediation strategies developed by this service in the creation of spaces for dialogue. From the conceptual framework and empirical research, which consisted in the observation of eight activities integrated in the Gulbenkian Descobrir program and the conduction of seven interviews with the cultural mediators of this service, we conclude that the educational service of the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum establishes cultural mediation as it’s main course of action. Through the analysis of the case study, we understand that spaces for dialogue are created through cultural mediation strategies that result in a more significant museum experience for the publics, which, in turn, enhances the construction of knowledge as well as learning process. Likewise, the difficulties felt as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and what is perceived as the future and ideal of cultural mediation were also analyzed.

    Authors: Varela, João Ramalho;

    A pandemia causada pelo vírus Sarscov-2, e as suas sucessivas variantes espalhadas pelo mundo provocaram um aumento do consumo de diversos produtos nomeadamente de Equipamentos de Proteção Individual (EPI), que assumiram uma função muito relevante a nível global, trazendo esta medida de segurança usada para conter a propagação do vírus uma maior complexidade em diversos sistemas. Na Associação Regional de Saúde (ARS) de Lisboa e Vale do Tejo para o desempenho das tarefas diárias é obrigatório o uso de fatos cirúrgicos em certas funções. O elevado consumo deste tipo de materiais descartáveis fez com que tivessem um impacto ambiental muito significativo e a oferta por vezes não fosse suficiente face à elevada procura, por estes motivos outras alternativas devem ser consideradas. A presente dissertação incide na redefinição do sistema logístico atual que permita a substituição de fatos cirúrgicos descartáveis por fatos cirúrgicos recicláveis, e consequente estudo dos impactos relacionados com estas medidas. Com base na revisão de literatura é possível concluir que estas mudanças resultam num impacto positivo para as organizações que adotem este tipo de medidas quer em termos de conforto e segurança para os utilizadores e utentes, como a nível ambiental e económico. Para encontrar a solução ótima foram identificadas as variáveis-chave, definidas hipóteses e construídos diferentes cenários. O custo mais baixo foi atingido pelo cenário que se traduz na triagem ser feita junto com a roupa da lavandaria, a lavagem ser feita na SUCH e o registo ser feito apenas após a lavagem. The pandemic caused by the Sarscov-2 virus, and its successive variants spread around the world, caused an increase in the consumption of several products, particularly Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) that assumed a very relevant role at a global level, with this safety measure being used to prevent the spread coming into a greater complexity in various systems. In the Regional Health Association (ARS) of Lisboa and Vale do Tejo for the performance of daily tasks the use of surgical suits is mandatory in certain functions. The high consumption of this type of single-use material has caused a very significant environmental impact, and the supply is sometimes insufficient, and for these reasons other alternatives should be considered. This dissertation focuses on the redefinition of the current logistics system that allows the replacement of disposable surgical suits by recyclable surgical suits, and consequent study of the impacts related to these measures. Based on the literature review, it is possible to conclude that these changes might result in a positive impact for organisations that adopt this type of measures, both in terms of comfort and safety for users, and at an environmental and economic level. To find the optimal solution, key variables were identified, hypotheses were defined and different scenarios were built. The lowest cost was reached by the scenario that results in the sorting being done together with the laundry, the washing being done in the SUCH and the registration being done only after the washing.

The main goal of this thesis is to have a holistic understanding of how brand experience, customer engagement and brand authenticity are perceived by customers and hospitality managers, and how they relate with each other, in th e hospitality setting upsca le hotels Th is work answers to seven research questions. This thesis includes five studies. Two systematic literature reviews about customer engagement and brand authenticity (Study one and Study two) map the existing knowledge about the topics and highlight avenues for future research. The other three studies capture the perspectives of customers and managers, using a mixed method approach- quantitative methodology (Study four) and qualitative methodologies (Study three and Study five), enabling data triangulation. Study three and Study five, capture managers´ and customers´ perspectives on the topics, respectively, also identifying the main stimuli to convey customer experience and authenticity perceptions and giving insights about the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on the sector and on the analyzed constructs. Findings from Study four reveal that a positive experience with the hotel brand influences the customers´ perception of authenticity about the hotel, and their engagement with the hotel. The more authentic the hotel is perceived, the more engaged the customers tend to b e Moreover, a customer who perceives an upscale hotel as authentic tends to recommend and return and feel authentic pride Finally, an engaged customer is also more likely to recommend and return to the hotel and feel authentic pride. Contributions to theory and practice are also presented.

    Authors: Figueiredo, Vanessa Alexandra Antunes;

    O turismo é um fenómeno social à escala global de crescente importância, o que releva a pertinência de lhe continuar a conceder um espaço na investigação científica, de modo a ser possível compreender os efeitos decorrentes do seu caráter dinâmico. A análise do fenómeno turístico revela-se tanto mais necessária quanto o surgimento de acontecimentos reconfiguradores da ordem social, sendo a situação epidemiológica o exemplo mais recente. Privilegiando uma abordagem qualitativa, este estudo pretende constituir-se como uma ferramenta de conhecimento da dinâmica turística da vila da Ericeira e dos efeitos que esta exerce nas dimensões socioespacial e identitária locais, procurando responder às seguintes questões de investigação: (a) quais as principais alterações decorrentes da atividade turística na região, nos últimos 20 anos?; (b) quais os impactos que essas alterações originam, do ponto de vista sociocultural, socioeconómico, político-administrativo, ambiental e físico?; (c) em que medida os impactos sentidos pela comunidade local contribuem para uma recomposição identitária social e de lugar, refletindo sentimentos variáveis de ligação e de pertença ao lugar?; (d) qual a influência da situação epidemiológica na dinâmica turística da vila? Os resultados deste estudo revelam que os residentes da Ericeira percecionam o turismo como promotor de um conjunto de alterações locais com impactos positivos e negativos no território e na comunidade. Embora reconhecendo a relevância do fenómeno turístico para o desenvolvimento da região a vários níveis, os residentes consideram que os impactos negativos evidenciam a necessidade de acautelar a essência da vila. Considering the relevance of tourism as a global scale social phenomenon, it is important to invest in the analysis of this topic on a scientific basis, in order to better understand the impacts resulting from its dynamic nature. The analysis of the tourist phenomenon is as necessary as the emergence of events that contribute to change the social order, such as the SARS-CoV-2 virus transmission. Based on a qualitative approach, this study intends to constitute itself as a knowledge tool of tourist dynamics in Ericeira, seeking to answer the following research questions: (a) what are the main changes resulting from the tourist activity in the region, in the last 20 years?; (b) what are the impacts do these changes cause, from a sociospatial, economic, cultural, environmental, and identity point of view?; (c) to what extent do the impacts felt by the local community contribute to a social identity and place recomposition, reflecting different feelings of connection and belonging to the place?; (d) what is the influence of the epidemiological situation on the tourist dynamics of the village?. The results of this study show that Ericeira’s residents perceived tourism as responsible for local changes with positive and negative impacts on the territory and the community. While recognizing the relevance of the tourist phenomenon to the local development, residents consider that negative impacts highlight the need to protect the essence of the village and its identity.

    Authors: Bertão, Ana Sofia Santos Marques Pimentel;

    O termo PropTech é pouco conhecido em Portugal, contudo a sua tecnologia desencadeou uma modernização, profissionalização e crescimento sustentável do setor imobiliário. O objetivo deste projeto é avaliar o impacto que a pandemia teve no crescimento e transparência do setor imobiliário português, através do uso da CASAFARI, PropTech líder de mercado, compreendendo o seu posicionamento após a pandemia COVID-19. Para estudar o tópico deste projeto recorreu-se à elaboração de um questionário de resposta anónima e efetuado um estudo exploratório qualitativo a uma amostra de 74 pessoas representativa dos principais clientes da CASAFARI e consultores, na área de Lisboa, que se mostraram disponíveis para responder ao inquérito. Constatou-se que a PropTech tem sido uma aliada do setor imobiliário, contudo a pandemia acelerou a sua adoção. Em termos de performance, é proposto à CASAFARI pontos de melhoria, permitindo-lhe competir de forma mais demarcada no mercado. Este projeto encontra-se dividido em seis (6) capítulos: A introdução ao tema, na qual se define o objetivo do projeto. A revisão da literatura, que aborda a evolução e crescimento do imobiliário em Portugal e o desenvolvimento e adoção da PropTech como consequência da pandemia. No terceiro capítulo é apresentada a metodologia usada no estudo exploratório. No quarto capítulo é feita a analise externa e interna da CASAFARI, a sua missão na transparência e no combate ao caos no setor imobiliário. Por fim, é realizada uma análise de dados através da interpretação dos resultados obtidos nos inquéritos, é proposto um plano de implementação e apresentam-se as conclusões, de acordo com objetivo deste projeto. Few people in Portugal are familiar with the term PropTech. And yet its technology has unleashed a modernization, professionalization, and sustainable growth in the real estate sector. This project aims to evaluate the impact of the pandemic on the growth and transparency of the Portuguese real estate sector, by using CASAFARI PropTech, a market leader, to understand their positioning following the COVID-19 pandemic. To study this topic, we carried out an anonymous-response survey, comprising a sample of 74 people who are representative of CASAFARI’s clients, and consultants in the Lisbon area. We discovered that PropTech is fundamentally an ally of the real estate sector, and that its adoption has greatly increased because of the pandemic. We suggest some areas for improvement fort CASAFARI to improve its performance and to compete more strongly in the market. This project is divided into 6 chapters: An introduction to the topic and definition of the project’s purpose. A review of literature that addresses both the evolution and growth of the Portuguese real estate market, and the development and adoption of PropTech because of the COVID pandemic. The third chapter explains the methodology used in the exploratory study. Chapter 4 is dedicated to the analysis, both external and internal, of CASAFARI and its mission of transparency, and of combatting the chaotic nature of the real estate sector. Lastly, we analyse and interpret the survey data. We also present our conclusions, and propose an implementation plan, in line with the project’s objectives.

    Authors: Sobral, João Guilherme Rodrigues;

    O presente projeto tem como objetivo geral compreender como foram mantidas as relações comerciais durante o período pandémico para que, posteriormente, seja criado um plano de atuação comercial para a Olimec para o ano 2022. Os anos 2020 e 2021 ficarão lembrados na história mundial pela maior pandemia alguma vez registada. A doença COVID-19, obrigou ao encerramento de inúmeras atividades, serviços e indústrias para contenção da pandemia. Existiram determinados setores em que foi mantida a atividade, por se considerarem de funcionamento essencial, nomeadamente a manutenção e reparação de viaturas afetas à limpeza urbana e setorial. Foi por isso necessário continuar a manter relações com fornecedores e clientes durante este período, para que fosse possível continuar a operar, dentro das restrições e limitações impostas pela pandemia. Em termos de estrutura, o projeto inicia-se no primeiro capítulo com a introdução, sendo feito no segundo capítulo um enquadramento sobre o setor, através de uma revisão bibliográfica. No terceiro capítulo é definida a metodologia para realização de uma análise ao mercado, para identificar e analisar a estratégia de abordagem comercial que a Olimec e os seus concorrentes estabeleceram durante este período. No quarto capítulo é realizada a análise externa e interna da empresa. No quinto capítulo são analisados os resultados obtidos na análise de mercado e, no sexto capítulo é realizada uma sugestão de implementação de um plano de atuação comercial para a Olimec para 2022. No sétimo e último capítulo são realizadas as conclusões juntamente com as limitações na realização do projeto. The present project has as general objective to understand how commercial relations were maintained during the pandemic period and create a commercial plan for Olimec for the year 2022. The years 2020 and 2021 will be remembered in history as the biggest pandemic ever recorded. The disease called COVID-19, forced the shutdown of numerous activities, services and industries to contain the Pandemic. In the meantime, it was also necessary to maintain certain sectors of activities as they were considered essential, such as the maintenance and repair of waste collection vehicles. The relationship between suppliers and customers was highly important to keep during this period of uncertainty, in order to continue operating, within the restrictions and limitations imposed by the pandemic. Following a brief introduction in the first chapter, the second chapter focus on a theoretical and technical framework on the sector through a bibliographical review. The third chapter defines the methodology adopted to carry out a market analysis in which Olimec operates, with the purpose of identifying and analyzing the costumer strategy and commercial approach that Olimec and its competitors established during this period. In the fourth chapter, the company's external and internal analysis is carried out.In the fifth chapter, the results obtained in the market study are analyzed, to give in the sixth chapter a suggestion to implementation of a commercial plan for Olimec for the year 2022. The project will be concluded in the seventh chapter, together with the limitations felt in the project.

    O Estado Providência Português tem sofrido uma profunda mudança, direcionada pela interação de pressões económicas, políticas e sociais, que operam a diferentes ritmos e velocidades e em diferentes contextos nacionais, históricos, institucionais e económicos. Deste modo, o principal objetivo deste trabalho de investigação consiste no estudo das alterações legislativas no âmbito da proteção de desempregados entre 2009 e 2021, analisando o posicionamento e o agendamento dos vários atores políticos, sindicatos e as mudanças e respostas impostas pelo Governo à crise financeira de 2008 e à pandemia covid-19. A abordagem seguida para o desenvolvimento deste trabalho foi assente na revisão de literatura e na análise dos programas eleitorais dos partidos políticos, dos cadernos reivindicativos das centrais sindicais e dos programas de governo, a fim de compreender as medidas implementadas. Os resultados revelam que Portugal respondeu à crise de 2008, numa experiência de recalibração do bem-estar, mas a conjuntura económica e mais tarde a intervenção externa, ditariam numa retração de bem-estar, numa tentativa de equilibrar o défice orçamental. A pandemia covid-19 teve uma resposta diferente, devido a uma conjuntura económica favorável, aumentando os apoios sociais numa vertente de investimento social, numa ótica de recalibração de bem-estar. Os partidos políticos apresentam alguma divergência nas ideias, contudo os partidos de esquerda e os sindicatos são os que defendem uma melhor proteção social, baseada numa forte intervenção do Estado. The Portuguese welfare state has been suffering a profound change, driven by the interaction of economic, political and social pressures, operating at different rhythms and speeds and in different national, historical, institutional and economic contexts. In this sense, the main goal of this research work is to study the legislative changes in the scope of unemployment protection between 2009 and 2021, analysing the positioning and agendas of the various political actors, the changes and responses imposed by the Government regarding the 2008 financial crisis and the covid-19 pandemic. The approach followed for the development of this research was based on literature review and analysis of the electoral programmes of the political parties, the claim books of the trade union centrals and government programmes, in order to understand the implemented measures. The results reveal that Portugal responded to the 2008 crisis in an experience of welfare recalibration, but the economic situation and later external intervention dictated a welfare retraction of in an attempt to balance the budget deficit. The covid-19 pandemic had a different response, due to the favourable economic situation, increasing social support in terms of social investment, in an attempt to well-being recalibration. The political parties present some divergence in ideas, however, the left-wing parties and the trade unions are the ones defending a better social protection, based on a strong State intervention.

    Authors: Barreto, Marta Sofia Sousa;

    Tendo como premissa o crescimento da internacionalização do ensino superior e a necessidade de conhecer melhor este fenómeno, o presente estudo teve como propósito, o desenvolvimento de uma ferramenta de BI para auxiliar a tomada de decisão. Para a concretização dos objetivos, optou-se pela realização de um estudo descritivo com uma abordagem quantitativa apoiada em inquérito por questionário, construído para o efeito com base na revisão bibliográfica e num modelo conceptual alicerçado em cinco domínios e trinta subdomínios. Com base nos dados obtidos, sua análise e tratamento, foram elaborados os Dashboards. Para a construção dos Dashboards utilizou-se o Power BI tendo como foco descobrir dados e padrões sobre estudantes outgoing e incoming, portugueses que estão a estudar no estrangeiro e estrangeiros a estudar em Portugal. A realização deste estudo permitiu identificar diferenças de comportamento e padrões nas opções de mobilidade académica, perceber as similaridades e diferenças nas necessidades dos estudantes por nacionalidades, de modo a poder definir uma estratégia mais personalizada. Pretendeu-se ainda conhecer alguns pontos de pressão que as instituições estão a vivenciar com a pandemia Covid-19, especialmente, como se adaptaram e responderam, à imposição de aulas online. Em suma, o presente estudo vem sublinhar a importância da ferramenta de apoio à decisão para a criação de futuras estratégias para responder aos novos desafios atuais e futuros, no contexto de internacionalização do ensino superior. Based on the premise of the growth of the internationalization of the higher education and the need to better understand this trend, the purpose of this study was set out to develop a BI tool to assist decision-making. To achieve the objectives, we chose to carry out a descriptive study with a quantitative approach supported by a questionnaire survey, built for this purpose based on the literature review and a conceptual model. It consists of five domains and thirty subdomains. Centered on the data obtained, its analysis, and treatment, Dashboards were developed. The Dashboards were built using Power BI software. The main purpose of the Dashboards focused on finding data and patterns about incoming and outgoing students, Portuguese students studying abroad, and foreign students studying in Portugal. This study allowed to identify differences in behavior and patterns in academic mobility options, to understand similarities and differences in students' needs by nationalities, to aid in defining a more personalized strategy. We also wanted to learn about some of the pressure points those institutions are experiencing with the Covid-19 pandemic, especially how they have adapted and responded to the imposition of online classes. In short, this study underlines the importance of the decision support tool for the creation of future strategies to respond to current and future challenges in the context of the internationalization of the higher education.

    Authors: Margarido, Bruno Marques;

    O desenvolvimento das sociedades está intrinsecamente ligado ao progresso tecnológico. A propagação das tecnologias de comunicação abriu portas à utilização da informação para os mais variados fins. A mediatização de diversos escândalos relativos à violação de dados pessoais veio alertar para a temática da privacidade. Esta investigação caracteriza-se pela sua abordagem exploratória empírica com duas vertentes, qualitativa através de entrevista, e quantitativa com a utilização de uma técnica de amostragem não probabilística por conveniência traduzida em um questionário online. Foram obtidas 211 respostas válidas que foram posteriormente alvo de tratamento e análise através do software IBM SPSS. É possível constatar que os inquiridos consideram que as cidades inteligentes potenciam ameaças à privacidade individual dos cidadãos, sendo que os mesmos indicam que a privacidade é um elemento importante na conceptualização das smart cities. Lisboa, apesar de ser considerada uma cidade inteligente e possuir diversas iniciativas e projetos associados a este conceito, quando comparada com outras metrópoles fica aquém das expectativas. A pandemia COVID-19 teve um grande impacto a nível social, e os inquiridos recorreram a meios tecnológicos para tentar controlar a propagação da mesma. Apesar da utilização destes recursos, não sentiram que os seus direitos pessoais e a sua privacidade tivessem sido postos em causa. É expressamente evidente que este surto foi o maior impulsionador da transição digital quer na comunidade, quer no local de trabalho. The development of societies is linked to technological progress. The spread of communication technologies has opened doors to the use of information for the most varied purposes. The mediatization of several scandals related to the violation of personal data has alerted the citizens to the risks of privacy. This study is characterized by its empirical exploratory approach with two methods, qualitative through interview, and quantitative with the use of a non-probabilistic sampling technique for convenience translated into an online questionnaire. A total of 211 valid responses were obtained that were subsequently treated and analyzed using IBM SPSS software. Respondents believe that smart cities potentiate threats to citizens' individual privacy, and they consider that privacy is an important element in the conceptualization of smart cities. Lisbon, despite being considered a smart city and having several initiatives and projects associated with this concept, falls short of expectations when compared to other cities. The COVID-19 pandemic had a major social impact, and respondents used technological means to try to control its spread. Despite the use of these resources, they did not feel that their personal rights and privacy had been violated. It is expressly clear that this outbreak was the biggest driver of the digital transition both in the community and in the workplace.

    Authors: Corrêa, Mariana Marçal de Mello;

    Authors: Gomes, Joana Filipa Martins;

    Authors: Varela, João Ramalho;

    Authors: Sobral, João Guilherme Rodrigues;

    Authors: Breia, Evandro Filipe Louro;

    Authors: Barreto, Marta Sofia Sousa;

    Authors: Margarido, Bruno Marques;
